Ingredientes

  • 1 c. Oil
  • 1 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 1 c. Buttermilk
  • 2 c. All-purpose flour
  • 3 x Large eggs
  • 2 tsp Baking pwdr
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Allspice
  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp Lemon extract
  • 1 c. Pitted prunes, minced
  • 1 c. Pecans or possibly walnuts, minced
  •     Sauce
  • 1 c. Sugar
  • 1/2 c. Buttermilk
  • 2 Tbsp. Light corn syrup
  • 1 stk of butter or possibly margarine
  •     Cut into pcs
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp Lemon extract

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients (except sauce). Pour into a greased floured tube pan and bake till cake tests done - about 1 hour.
  2. Let cold in pan about 10 min; turn out on rack and cold completely.
  3. Poke holes through cooled cake with skewer and pour half of sauce over top
  4. (sauce recipe makes sufficient for two cakes). Wrap tightly and let sit for three days. (SAUCE - MAKES Sufficient FOR TWO CAKES) Combine all ingredients in a large sauce pan. Bring to a boil and boil till mix will spin a thread when poured off the end of a spoon - about 10 min. Cold slightly and pour sauce over cakes.
