Quick Puff pastry

A shorter version of puff pastry, quite good!

Ingredientes

  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 125 g butter
  • 125 g butter
  • 3 tsp brandy or lemon juice
  • 1 jumbo egg yolk

Direcciones

  1. Chill 2 metal bowls beforehand
  2. Sift flour and salt and divide between the 2 bowls
  3. Rub the 1st butter to the flour until it appears to be like bread crumbs
  4. Beat the egg yolk & lemon juice and mix with the above
  5. Rub the butter & flour of the 2nd bowl, keep aside
  6. Roll out the 1st mixture in a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick
  7. Sprinkle the dry crumb mixture onto the middle third of the rolled out dough
  8. Fold over the sides, wrap in cling plastic, refriderate 1 hour
  9. Use as needed, pastry prefer a hot oven for about 12 minutes
