- 1/2 cup basmati Rice
- 2 tbsp. ghee / oil
- 1 tsp. cumin seeds / caraway seeds (jeera / shahjeera)
- 2 cloves
- 2 cardamom
- 1 inch cinnamon piece
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 green chillie
- 1 big onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp. ginger - garlic paste (I used 1 tsp. grated ginger)
- 1/8 tsp. turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- About 1.5 tsp. salt (or adjust as needed)
