%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBring%20to%20a%20boil.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20stew%20is%20now%20ready%20to%20be%20served%20into%20bowls%20and%20can%20be%20mopped%20up%20with%20Eish,%20pita%20bread,%20injeera%20or%20any%20of%20the%20other%20types%20of%20breads%20eaten%20in%20Africa.%20You%20can%20even%20eat%20it%20with%20a%20baguette%20or%20Italian%20bread,%20but%20they%20don't%20soak%20up%20as%20much%20liquid.Indian%20rotis%20are%20not%20a%20good%20combination%20for%20the%20same%20reason.%20It%20can%20be%20eaten%20with%20steamed%20rice,%20idiappams,%20dosas%20or%20appams%20though.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESince%20the%20couscous%20I%20had%20was%20of%20the%20instant%20variety,%20I%20just%20had%20to%20pour%20hot%20water%20and%20wait%20for%20a%20few%20minutes%20before%20I%20could%20plate%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20already%20had%20a%20few%20herbs%20in%20it,%20so%20I%20hadn't%20added%20any%20herbs%20into%20the%20stew,%20allowing%20the%20spicing%20to%20come%20from%20the%20harissa.%20All%20that%20was%20left,%20was%20to%20plate%20up%20and%20serve.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20combination%20of%20the%20slightly%20tart%20couscous,%20the%20smoky%20flavour%20of%20the%20sausages%20and%20the%20sweet%20and%20spicy%20stew%20was%20awesome.%20I%20would%20also%20serve%20some%20harissa%20on%20the%20side%20for%20those%20who%20would%20like%20to%20make%20their%20stew%20spicier.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EVariations:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20don't%20have%20access%20to%20Merguez%20sausages,%20don't%20use%20regular%20cocktail%20or%20frankfurter%20sausages,%20they%20just%20won't%20work.%20You%20need%20a%20sausage%20that%20has%20a%20smoked%20herby%20flavouring.%20Chorizo%20could%20work,%20but%20its%20spices%20could%20clash%20with%20the%20harissa.%20So%20taste%20them%20individually%20before%20pairing%20them.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDon't%20use%20the%20cheesy%20varieties,%20you%20want%20a%20more%20down%20to%20earth,%20smoky%20sausage.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20actually%20don't%20need%20sausages,%20but%20they%20do%20go%20well%20with%20this%20combination.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20can%20use%20any%20regular%20plain%20couscous%20and%20cook%20it%20with%20herbs%20of%20your%20choice.%20If%20you%20don't%20add%20lemon%20to%20your%20couscous,%20add%20a%20little%20to%20the%20stew%20for%20a%20bit%20of%20tartness%20in%20the%20combination.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
