,%20Lemongrass%20is%20no%20exception.%20I%20mean,%20look%20at%20that%20carved%20potato%20flower!%20Impressive%20for%20just%20a%20garnish%20:-)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20certainly%20feel%20like%20you%20are%20about%20to%20experience%20something%20rather%20authentic%20as%20soon%20as%20you%20walk%20in%20when%20you%20are%20greeted%20with%20a%20polite%20'namaste'%20by%20a%20smart-looking%20waiter.%20Of%20course,%20it's%20also%20one%20of%20those%20places%20where%20if%20it%20feels%20a%20little%20alien%20to%20any%20of%20you,%20one%20of%20you%20is%20bound%20to%20do%20something%20a%20little%20bit%20silly.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20you%20are%20taken%20to%20your%20table%20through%20a%20row%20of%20colourfully%20dressed%20beaming%20staff%20lined%20up%20on%20either%20side%20of%20you,%20it%20does%20make%20you%20feel%20rather%20special.%20I%20was%20busy%20oohing%20and%20aahing%20at%20the%20warming%20red,%20yellow%20and%20white%20decor%20around%20me,%20and,%20when%20suddenly%20caught%20off%20guard%20by%20the%20many%20smiling%20faces,%20I%20accidentally%20slipped%20(but%20managed%20to%20stay%20upright).%20Oh%20dear,%20I%20thought,%20it's%20going%20to%20be%20one%20of%20those%20evenings...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20restaurant%20is%20pretty%20big%20and%20we%20were%20seated%20in%20the%20'best%20table%20in%20the%20restaurant'.%20I'm%20not%20entirely%20sure%20what%20made%20it%20the%20best%20table%20though,%20as%20it%20was%20a%20tight%20booth%20that%20was%20blocked%20by%20a%20wall%20that%20made%20it%20difficult%20to%20get%20in%20on%20one%20side!%20(Lots%20of%20banging%20elbows%20and%20clattering%20crockery%20and%20cutlery%20ensued%20later%20that%20evening%20on%20our%20table.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20getting%20our%20bearings,%20we%20looked%20through%20the%20huge%20menu%20which%20has%20pages%20of%20wonderful%20dishes.%20You've%20got%20your%20classic%20Thai%20curries,%20stir%20fries%20and%20soups,%20a%20good%20selection%20of%20veggie%20dishes%20(which%20aren't%20just%20boring%20tofu%20alternatives%20of%20the%20meat%20dishes)%20and%20of%20course,%20plenty%20of%20seafood%20dishes%20to%20choose%20from.%20I%20went%20for%20a%20stir%20fried%20duck%20with%20ginger%20dish:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPed%20Pad%20Khing%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20was%20pretty%20nice%20and%20the%20duck%20had%20a%20lot%20of%20naughty%20skin%20(mm,%20the%20best%20part!)%20but%20was%20far%20too%20salty,%20which%20spoilt%20it%20a%20little.%20The%20portions%20are%20massive%20though%20and%20they%20don't%20scrimp%20on%20any%20of%20the%20ingredients%20-%20no%20stingy%20pasta%20dishes%20here%20with%20just%204%20slices%20of%20chicken%20and%20a%20couple%20of%20mushroom!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20dim%20sum%20you%20see%20at%20the%20top%20of%20this%20post%20was%20my%20favourite,%20and%20again,%20they%20were%20packed%20generously%20-%20a%20gorgeously%20juicy%20filling%20of%20water%20chestnuts,%20minced%20chicken%20and%20prawns.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20staff%20are%20very%20attentive%20too%20though%20there%20seemed%20to%20be%20a%20different%20person%20that%20came%20to%20our%20table%20each%20time,%20which%20was%20confusing%20and%20made%20the%20service%20seem%20a%20bit%20erratic.%20Typically,%20you%20might%20expect%20this%20to%20make%20you%20feel%20a%20bit%20unloved%20as%20a%20customer%20and%20also%20rushed%20to%20finish%20your%20meal%20too%20when%20they%20all%20bustle%20about.%20There's%20nothing%20worse%20than%20feeling%20like%20the%20staff%20just%20want%20you%20to%20get%20out%20of%20there%20as%20soon%20as%20possible.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDespite%20them%20darting%20around%20though,%20it%20doesn't%20really%20bother%20you%20too%20much%20because%20of%20the%20gentle%20classical%20Thai%20music%20filtering%20through.%20It%20allows%20you%20to%20sink%20back%20and%20really%20enjoy%20the%20whole%20Thai%20experience.%20And%20all%20this%20I%20got%20just%20from%20where%20I%20was%20sitting%20-%20I%20really%20wanted%20to%20have%20a%20wander%20around%20to%20take%20some%20photos%20of%20the%20stylish%20surroundings%20-%20but%20was%20paranoid%20that%20I%20was%20going%20to%20slip%20again!%20So,%20I%20definitely%20need%20to%20go%20back%20again%20:-)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOther%20restaurants%20I've%20tried%20that%20you%20might%20like%20to%20read%20about.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
