%20would%20be%20dry%20vermouth.%20You%20don't%20have%20to%20use%20it....you%20can%20substitute%20it%20with%20more%20chicken%20stock.%20However....highly%20I%20recommend%20you%20get%20yourself%20some%20because%20it%20really%20does%20add%20a%20lot%20to%20the%20flavor%20of%20this%20soup.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOooohhh,%20one%20more%20thing%20before%20we%20get%20to%20the%20recipe....have%20you%20ever%20had%20the%20pleasure%20of%20using%20fresh%20garlic?%20As%20in...not%20purchased%20from%20the%20supermarket?%20Man,%20oh%20man....if%20you%20haven't,%20you%20should%20try%20and%20get%20your%20hands%20of%20a%20few%20bulbs%20(or%20more)%20cuz%20there's%20nothing%20like%20it.%20If%20you're%20a%20garlic%20lover%20(like%20me)...you%20don't%20know%20what%20garlic%20is%20until%20you've%20had%20it%20direct%20from%20the%20grower.%20A%20fellow%20blogger%20and%20all%20around%20really%20neat%20gal%20named%20Michelle%20over%20at%20BigBlackDogs.net%20sent%20me%20some%20of%20the%20garlic%20that%20she%20grew...what%20an%20eye%20opener%20that%20was.%20I%20could%20go%20on%20and%20on%20about%20how%20wonderful%20it%20is...but%20I%20don't%20think%20any%20of%20us%20have%20enough%20time.%20But%20let%20me%20say%20this...I%20am%20seriously%20considering%20growing%20my%20own.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThank%20you%20Michelle!!!%20Your%20garlic%20is%20out%20of%20this%20world%20awesome!!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20small%20saucepan,%20stir%20combine%201/2%20cup%20of%20the%20chicken%20stock,%20vermouth%20and%20butter.%20Bring%20to%20a%20boil%20and%20reduce%20the%20liquid%20to%20about%201/4%20cup.%20Stir%20in%20the%20heavy%20cream,%20remove%20from%20heat%20and%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20large%20saucepan,%20heat%20olive%20oil%20and%20add%20the%20onion,%20carrots,%20celery%20and%20mushrooms.%20Saute%20until%20just%20tender.%20add%20the%20garlic%20and%20saute%20for%20an%20addition%20minute.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%206%20cups%20of%20chicken%20stock%20and%20bring%20to%20a%20boil.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20stock%20that%20I%20used%20contributed%20greatly%20to%20my%20soups%20deep%20rich%20color.%20I%20had%20made%20it%20from%20some%20chicken%20and%20bones%20leftover%20from%20a%20roasted%20chicken.%20Use%20what%20ever%20chicken%20stock%20you%20have%20on%20hand.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EReduce%20the%20heat%20and%20let%20simmer%20until%20the%20vegetables%20are%20tender.%20Carefully%20puree%20with%20a%20stick%20blender%20or%20pour%20into%20a%20blender%20and%20puree....being%20careful%20not%20to%20over%20fill%20your%20blender%20(you%20don't%20want%20a%20soup%20explosion...that%20would%20really%20ruin%20your%20night%20and%20dinner%20plans).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhere%20was%20I.....Oh....ok,%20everything%20is%20all%20pureed,%20happy%20(and%20back%20in%20the%20pan%20if%20you%20used%20a%20blender)%20and%20waiting%20for%20the%20next%20step...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EReturn%20to%20a%20boil%20and%20then%20add%20the%20noodles.%20Cook%20until%20tender...about%207%20-%208%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMix%20the%20flour%20and%20additional%20broth,%20stock,%20water...(I%20used%20broth%20cuz%20I%20ran%20out%20of%20stock)%20until%20smooth%20and%20stir%20into%20the%20noodle%20mixture.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20find%20that%20it's%20a%20little%20too%20thick...add%20more%20broth%20/%20stock.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAllow%20the%20soup%20to%20boil%20for%20a%20minute%20or%20two%20and%20then%20stir%20in%20the%20creamy%20vermouth%20mixture%20and%20chicken.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESeason%20with%20salt%20and%20pepper%20to%20taste%20and%20enjoy%20a%20loving%20bowl%20on%20soup....perfect%20for%20cold%20days,%20rainy%20days,%20snowy%20days...or%20just%20days%20where%20you%20need%20that%20extra%20comfort%20that%20only%20comes%20from%20%22comfort%20food%22.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20my%20entry%20this%20week%20for%20the%20Hearth%20'N%20Soul%20Blog%20Hop%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHop%20on%20over%20to%20see%20what%20the%20other's%20did%20on%20their%20blogs.%20It'll%20be%20so%20worth%20it!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
