Ingredientes

  • 12 med Mushrooms
  • 1 Tbsp. Butter
  • 3 lb Lean grnd beef
  • 1 med Onion, finely minced
  • 1 1/2 c. Bread crumbs
  • 4 x Large eggs, beaten
  • 3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 1/2 tsp Grnd cumin
  • 2 tsp Cayenne
  • 1/2 c. Ketchup
  • 2 tsp Cayenne
  • 3 slc Bacon, optional

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Wash mushrooms, trim stems, and chop coarsely. Heat butter in saute/fry pan over medium heat and saute/fry mushrooms for 5-10 min, till hard. Drain mushrooms in colander, discarding liquid.
  3. In large mixing bowl, combine grnd meat, onion, bread crumbs, beaten Large eggs, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, cumin, cayenne and mushrooms. Mix thoroughly. Form into loaf and place in a casserole dish which has been lightly sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
  4. In small bowl, combine ketchup with cayenne and mix well. Set aside.
  5. Place in oven and cook for 1 3/4 hrs, or possibly till meat is no longer pink inside. During last half hour of cooking, spread ketchup mix over top, and place bacon slices over, if you like.
  6. If using bacon slices, turn broiler on for last 4 min or possibly so to 'crisp' the bacon. Watch meatloaf carefully during this procedure!
  7. Remove meatloaf from oven and CAREFULLY drain liquid and remove meatloaf to serving platter. Allow to cold for 5 min, then slice and serve.
  8. NOTE: This makes a very large meatloaf; smaller families or possibly those who do not enjoy meatloaf sandwiches might want to cut recipe in half, and reduce baking time to approximately one hour.
