%20and%20wound%20up%20buying%20a%20bottle%20of%20one%20of%20them.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EChairman's%20Reserve%20by%20St.%20Lucia%20Distillers,%20Saint%20Lucia.%2080%20Proof%20-%20Until%20a%20year%20ago%20or%20so,%20this%20rum%20wasn't%20available%20in%20the%20US,%20and%20I%20can%20see%20why%20the%20people%20of%20Saint%20Lucia%20would%20want%20to%20keep%20it%20a%20secret.%20%20This%20is%20a%20relatively%20inexpensive%20rum%20that%20tastes%20like%20it%20should%20cost%20at%20least%20twice%20as%20much.%20%20The%20gentleman%20doing%20the%20pouring%20told%20me%20that%20Chairman's%20Reserve%20is%20a%20blend%20of%20double-distilled%20pot%20still%20and%20continuous%20still%20rums,%20which%20give%20it%20a%20%22sipping%20rum%22%20flavor%20at%20a%20%22mixing%20rum%22%20price.%20%20It's%20aged%20in%20used%20whiskey%20and%20bourbon%20barrels%20to%20develop%20a%20more%20complex%20flavor.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBrown%20sugar%20and%20caramel%20on%20the%20nose,%20with%20no%20harsh%20alky%20vapors;%20the%20first%20sip%20is%20like%20vanilla%20caramel%20velvet%20with%20a%20nutty,%20brown%20spice%20finish.%20%20Chairman's%20Reserve%20is%20indeed%20an%20awesome%20sipping%20rum,%20as%20good%20on%20the%20rocks%20as%20it%20is%20neat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20was%20an%20easy%20sell%20for%20me%20-%20after%20the%20tasting%20I%20bought%20a%20bottle,%20and%20it%20was%20quite%20a%20good%20deal%20at%20about%20$20%20for%20the%20750ml%20bottle,%20purchased%20at%20Table%20&%20vine%20in%20Taxachusetts.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECastrie's%20Peanut%20Rum%20Cream%20-%20This%20is%20a%20cream%20liquor%20made%20from%20St.%20Lucia%20rum,%20Madagascar%20vanilla,%20roasted%20peanuts,%20cream,%20and%20spices.%20%20It%20is%20undeniably%20smooth%20and%20creamy%20-%20like%20taking%20a%20sip%20of%20a%20silky%20peanut%20butter%20milkshake%20spiked%20with%20a%20good%20shot%20of%20premium%20rum.%20%20It%20went%20down%20easily%20but%20peanut%20flavor%20is%20not%20one%20of%20my%20favorites%20and%20I%20involuntarily%20made%20a%20face%20as%20I%20swallowed.%20%20Lynnafred%20and%20Maryanne,%20watching%20from%20the%20sidelines,%20laughed%20and%20said,%20%22Ha!%20DO%20NOT%20WANT!!%22%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20can%20think%20of%20dozens%20of%20things%20I%20could%20do%20with%20a%20bottle%20of%20Castrie's%20Peanut%20Rum%20Cream.%20%20I%20bet%20it%20would%20be%20fantastic%20mixed%20into%20a%20cocktail%20with,%20say,%20Kahlua%20and%20garnished%20with%20a%20Reese's%20Peanut%20Butter%20Cup%20on%20the%20edge%20of%20the%20glass.%20%20Or%20poured%20with%20hot%20fudge%20over%20premium%20vanilla%20bean%20ice%20cream.%20Or,%20um,%20poured%20with%20some%20raspberry%20liqueur%20for%20a%20peanut-butter-and-jelly%20cocktail.%20%20Okay,%20so%20that%20last%20one%20is%20probably%20a%20bit%20of%20a%20reach,%20but%20just%20because%20I%20don't%20really%20care%20for%20the%20flavor%20of%20a%20peanut-butter%20liqueur%20doesn't%20mean%20it's%20swill.%20%20It%20isn't.%20%20I%20just%20wouldn't%20want%20to%20drink%20it.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
