%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20can't%20remember%20where%20I%20got%20the%20idea,%20so%20I%20apologize%20to%20whichever%20foodblogger%20put%20this%20into%20my%20head%20:)%20It's%20less%20of%20a%20recipe%20and%20more%20of%20guidelines.%20I'm%20actually%20not%20quite%20sure%20what%20I'm%20going%20to%20do%20with%20it.%20I%20may%20try%20to%20throw%20the%20ginger%20in%20the%20processor%20and%20sprinkle%20it%20over%20gingerbread%20the%20next%20time%20I%20make%20it.%20The%20ginger%20syrup%20has%20only%20been%20used%20in%20a%20rhubarb%20compote%20I%20made%20today.%20(Which%20I%20ate%20with%20plain%20yogurt%20and%20granola%20-%20YUMM!)%20I'm%20gonna%20try%20to%20make%20ginger%20ale%20with%20club%20soda.%20I%20think%20it%20would%20be%20good%20with%20any%20fruit,%20drink,%20icecream,%20or%20yogurt.%20I%20used%20the%20photo%20from%20this%20person%20because%20it%20looks%20a%20decent%20bit%20like%20mine.%20Will%20take%20a%20photo%20when%20I%20remember,%20but%20I%20wanted%20to%20get%20this%20up.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECandied%20Ginger%20and%20Ginger%20Syrup%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServes:%20Depends%20on%20what%20you%20use%20it%20for!%20Time:%20An%20hour%20or%20so%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20Peel%20your%20ginger%20and%20then%20slice%20very%20thinly.%20This%20will%20make%20it%20take%20less%20time%20for%20the%20pieces%20to%20give%20their%20juice%20to%20the%20syrup%20and%20suck%20up%20sugar%20themselves.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20Put%20about%20sugar%20and%20water%20into%20a%20small%20sauce%20pan%20with%20the%20sliced%20ginger.%20Turn%20on%20to%20low.%20Stir%20gently%20until%20sugar%20dissolves%20and%20let%20it%20simmer%20for%20at%20least%2030%20minutes.%20Add%20more%20sugar%20and%20water%20if%20your%20ginger%20is%20not%20covered.%20You%20will%20want%20to%20add%20more%20water%20if%20the%20bubbles%20while%20it%20boils%20look%20really%20big.%20That's%20a%20sign%20that%20it's%20a%20lot%20of%20sugar%20and%20will%20be%20solid%20when%20you%20pour%20it%20out,%20not%20syrup.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20When%20you're%20tired%20of%20waiting%20for%20them%20to%20boil,%20take%20them%20out%20and%20put%20them%20on%20a%20wire%20rack%20to%20drain%20and%20dry.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4.%20After%20it%20cools%20for%20a%20bit,%20pour%20the%20syrup%20into%20a%20container%20to%20keep%20in%20the%20fridge.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
