%20For%20once%20in%20my%20life%20I%20am%20not%20complaining%20about%20the%20heat.%20Nuh%20uh..no%20way.%20Not%20after%20that%20dreary,%20gloomy,%20gray%20June.%20Could%20be%20that%20I'm%20so%20super%20thankful,%20grown%20up%20and%20mature%20that%20I%20have%20left%20my%20whining%20ways%20behind.%20OR,%20it%20could%20be%20we%20bought%20a%20little%20portable%20air%20conditioner%20that%20has%20made%20all%20the%20difference%20in%20the%20world.%20What%20do%20you%20think????%20:-)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20plants%20are%20happy%20now%20too,%20even%20if%20they%20have%20to%20live%20without%20air%20conditioning.%20The%20roses%20especially%20appreciate%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EVeronica%20and%20Feverfew%20look%20pretty%20happy%20too.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20fuchsia%20I%20have%20planted%20in%20the%20ground%20has%20finally%20decided%20to%20open%20its%20little%20blooms.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELittle%20Super%20Fairy%20on%20the%20wedding%20arbor%20is%20beginning%20to%20flower%20too%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20hummingbirds,%20butterflies%20AND%20bees%20will%20be%20glad%20to%20see%20the%20bee%20balm%20blooming%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20went%20for%20my%20stroll%20this%20morning%20when%20it%20was%20still%20cool%20and%20a%20little%20hazy%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20shadows%20were%20falling%20just%20right%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20alstroemeria%20and%20astilbe%20bring%20their%20own%20light%20to%20this%20often%20shady%20spot%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20am%20always%20amazed%20at%20the%20tropical%20look%20of%20this%20flower%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBack%20in%20my%20shadiest%20corner%20blues%20seem%20to%20thrive%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHydrangeas%20of%20course%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20some%20blue%20campalnula%20mixed%20in%20with%20some%20pink%20geraniums%20and%20more%20astilbe%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBack%20around%20by%20bubbling%20rock,%20more%20blue.%20I%20am%20really%20loving%20this%20shorter%20blue%20veronica.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOne%20thing%20that%20stands%20out%20in%20my%20early%20July%20garden%20walk...the%20daylilies%20have%20arrived!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20have%20them%20planted%20mostly%20along%20the%20edge%20of%20my%20borders%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20almost%20forget%20they're%20there%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUntil%20they%20decide%20to%20open%20up%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20then%20they%20scream%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20Attention%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENot%20shy%20at%20all%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMore%20like%20belles%20of%20the%20summer%20ball.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20a%20long%20stroll%20surveying%20the%20property%20(sounds%20like%20I%20live%20on%20an%20estate%20huh?%20A%20.06%20of%20an%20acre%20estate%20mind%20you....and%20yes%20that%20is%20a%20point%20in%20front%20of%20the%20zero)%20,%20I%20was%20ready%20for%20breakfast.%20I%20had%20an%20envie%20for%20some%20french%20toast%20and%20a%20%20black%20ripe%20banana%20to%20use%20and%20after%20perusing%20the%20web%20for%20a%20bit,%20decided%20on%20banana%20french%20toast.%20Now%20I've%20done%20a%20french%20toast%20before%20with%20bananas%20on%20top,%20but%20this%20was%20with%20bananas%20cooked%20into%20the%20french%20toast%20and%20not%20so%20super%20sweet.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBanana%20&%20Spice%20French%20Toast%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Einspired%20by%20this%20Recipe%20and%20tweaked%20quite%20a%20bit.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhiz%20banana,%20eggs,%20cream,%20vanilla,%20extract,%20cinnamon,%20allspice%20&%20nutmeg%20in%20a%20blender%20or%20food%20processor%20until%20banana%20is%20evenly%20combined.%20It%20should%20only%20take%20a%20few%20long%20pulses,%20and%20the%20banana%20will%20be%20incorporated.%20Put%20mixture%20in%20a%20shallow%20dish,%20I%20use%20a%20metal%20pie%20plate%20like%20my%20Momma%20did%20before%20me.%20Place%20slices%20in%20mixture%20and%20make%20sure%20they%20get%20covered%20with%20liquid.%20Flip%20them%20over%20if%20necessary.%20I%20did%20two%20batches.%20It%20will%20just%20depend%20on%20your%20bread%20how%20long%20you%20soak%20them.%20Mine%20was%20pretty%20hard%20so%20I%20left%20it%20in%20there%20a%20little%20longer%20than%20you%20might%20need%20to.%20I%20even%20poked%20the%20pieces%20with%20a%20fork%20to%20make%20sure%20they%20got%20saturated.%20Don't%20let%20them%20get%20too%20soggy%20though.%20Heat%20some%20butter%20in%20a%20hot%20skillet%20or%20griddle.%20As%20you%20take%20the%20bread%20out%20of%20the%20of%20the%20egg%20mix%20kind%20of%20give%20it%20a%20little%20shake%20to%20get%20rid%20of%20the%20excess.%20Fry%20on%20each%20side%20until%20nice%20and%20brown.%20It%20doesn't%20take%20long...a%20couple%20of%20minutes%20on%20each%20side.%20I%20sauteed%20a%20few%20pecans%20after%20the%20french%20toast%20was%20done%20and%20sprinkled%20those%20on%20top%20along%20with%20maple%20syrup%20and%20a%20little%20dollop%20of%20whipped%20cream.%20Raspberries%20made%20a%20really%20great%20accompaniment.%20The%20banana%20flavor%20is%20subtle%20but%20its%20there%20and%20really%20nice.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI'm%20joining%20in%20on%20Today's%20Flowers!%20Please%20go%20check%20out%20the%20other%20pretties.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
