%20from%20Alsace,%20France.%20Thankfully%20Aparna%20made%20a%20vegetarian%20version%20of%20this%20for%20this%20months%20We%20Knead%20to%20%20Bake%20and%20here%20it%20is.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20ham%20has%20been%20replaced%20by%20tomatoes%20and%20bellpeppers%20and%20this%20makes%20it%20colourful%20or%20a%20jewelled.%20Eggs%20are%20there%20in%20this%20recipe%20but%20can%20be%20replaced%20and%20I%20have%20used%20Ener%20G%20egg%20replacer%20as%20usual.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreparation:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20food%20processor%20pulse%20for%20a%20few%20times%20flour,salt%20and%20yeast.Add%20in%20butter%20little%20at%20a%20time%20and%20pulse%20again.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20in%20milk%20and%20egg%20and%20pulse%20again%20till%20we%20get%20a%20sticky%20sort%20of%20dough.%20Do%20add%20tablespoonsfuls%20of%20flour%20and%20continue%20pulsing%20till%20the%20dough%20pulls%20away%20from%20the%20sides%20of%20the%20bowl.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStill%20the%20dough%20might%20be%20sticky.%20Do%20not%20add%20more%20flour%20though.%20Pat%20the%20dough%20into%20a%20round%20and%20keep%20it%20covered%20in%20an%20oiled%20deep%20bowl%20turning%20once%20to%20coat%20with%20oil%20until%20it%20doubles%20in%20volume%20which%20is%20almost%202.5%20hrs!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMeanwhile%20prepare%20the%20filling%20or%20stuffing.%20Finely%20chop%20onions,%20tomato%20and%20bellpepper.%20Make%20sure%20you%20remove%20the%20pulp%20of%20the%20tomato%20before%20chopping.Heat%20oil%20in%20a%20deep%20pan%20and%20saute%20the%20tomatoes%20and%20bellpepper%20adding%20a%20pinch%20of%20salt%20and%20pepper%20for%201-2%20minutes%20while%20the%20raw%20smell%20goes%20but%20they're%20still%20crunchy%20and%20colourful.%20Remove%20from%20the%20pan%20with%20a%20slotted%20spoon%20and%20keep%20aside.%20Add%20more%20oil%20to%20the%20pan%20if%20needed%20and%20saute%20onions%20adding%20little%20salt,%20sugar,%20pepper%20and%20thyme.%20Once%20golden%20brown%20remove%20from%20fire%20and%20mix%20in%20with%20the%20bellepepper%20and%20tomato.%20Do%20the%20taste%20test%20and%20add%20more%20salt%20and%20seasoning%20if%20needed.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20the%20dough%20is%20doubled%20deflate%20it%20gently%20and%20flatten%20it.%20Flattening%20helps%20in%20stuffing%20the%20bread.Spread%20the%20filling%20on%20the%20dough%20along%20with%20diced%20cheese%20and%20walnuts,%20fold%20it%20over%20to%20cover%20the%20filling%20and%20knead%20it%20gently%20so%20that%20the%20filling%20is%20evenly%20spread.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETurn%20the%20dough%20into%20a%20log%20and%20place%20it%20in%20a%20greased%20bundt%20pan%20which%20has%20already%20been%20sprinkled%20with%20walnuts%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere%20for%20me%20atleast%20the%20dough%20became%20tough%20to%20manage%20with%20the%20filling%20pouring%20out%20from%20every%20side%20of%20the%20dough.%20Somehow%20I%20turned%20it%20into%20a%20log.%20Instead%20of%20the%20bundt%20cake%20I%20had%20gone%20for%20smaller%20muffin%20pan%20and%20even%20mini%20bundt%20pan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20I%20pinched%20pieces%20of%20the%20dough%20placed%20in%20a%20walnut%20studded%20muffin%20pan.%20For%20the%20mini%20bundts,%20I%20pinched%20pieces,%20rolled%20them%20out%20and%20placed%20the%20piece%20circularly%20in%20the%20mould%20and%20pinched%20the%20edges%20together%20to%20close%20the%20circle.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20this%20is%20done,%20let%20the%20dough%20sit%20covered%20in%20plastic%20wrap%20until%20it%20rises%20again%20for%20another%20hour%20or%20so.I%20went%20for%202%20hrs%20again%20but%20still%20the%20dough%20rose%20but%20didn't%20exactly%20double.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20in%20a%20preheated%20oven%20at%20190C%20for%20about%2020-25%20minutes%20or%20until%20the%20tops%20are%20golden%20brown%20and%20they%20sound%20hollow%20when%20tapped.This%20is%20how%20it%20was%20for%20me%20as%20I%20went%20for%20smaller%20sizes.%20If%20going%20for%20an%208%22%20bundt%20pan,%20then%20go%20for%2035-40%20minutes%20at%20200C.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECool%20for%205-10%20minutes%20and%20then%20invert%20these%20on%20a%20wire%20rack%20to%20wait%20until%20consumption.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESnack%20on%20the%20mini%20bundts%20or%20kugelhopf%20muffins%20whatever%20you%20call%20them.%20Perfect%20with%20tea%20or%20with%20anything%20or%20as%20such%20anytime.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThey%20look%20crispy%20but%20were%20soft%20with%20a%20little%20crunch%20of%20the%20nuts%20while%20biting.%20Atleast%20thats%20what%20I%20got.%20But%20since%20they%20are%20yeasted%20cakes,%20I%20suppose%20I%20got%20it%20right.%20I%20had%20a%20perfect%20tea%20with%20%20savoury%20cakes.%20They%20can%20also%20be%20consumed%20for%20breakfast,%20and%20also%20served%20with%20soup%20for%20dinner.Now%20lets%20see%20whats%20happening%20with%20others.%20Drop%20in%20at%20Aparna's%20and%20enjoy%20the%20stories%20on%20kugelhopf.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
