Scalloped Potatoes Mrs. Appleyard

Ingredientes

  • 4 lg. baking potatoes
  • 1/2 pound grated cheddar cheese (1/4 c. reserved for later)
  • 1/2 c. chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 c. chopped onions
  • 2 1/2 c. lowfat milk - light cream combined
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 1 teaspoon savory
  • Paprika

Direcciones

  1. Butter sides and bottom of shallow baking dish. Wash and peel potatoes, slice thin and immerse in ice water while you prepare the remaining ingredients. Drain. Put a layer of potatoes into the dish, dot with butter sprinkling thickly with cheese, onion, parsley, salt and pepper, savory and paprika. Do this till you have 4 layers.
  2. Pour in the lowfat milk-cream mix sufficient to cover the potatoes. Bake in a warm 450 degree oven for 10 min. Sprinkle on the reserved cheese, reduce heat to 350 degrees and continue cooking till potatoes are tender (about 2 hrs).
