Ingredientes

  • 1/4 c. Mustard seeds
  • 2 Tbsp. Black peppercorns
  • 2 Tbsp. Warm red pepper flakes
  • 6 x Bay leaves
  • 1 Tbsp. Celery seeds
  • 1 Tbsp. Coriander seeds
  • 1 Tbsp. Grnd ginger
  • 1/4 tsp Grnd mace
  • 1/4 c. Salt

  1. This is from _Hoppin' John's Lowcountry Cooking_. I haven't tried it myself but I'd*really* like to know how it turns out. Since we've been discussing X-mas gifts, this looks like it might be a good one!
  2. Place all ingredients except the salt in a blender and blend till proportionately grnd. Add in the salt and blend briefly to incorporate the salt into the seasonings. Store in well-sealed jars in a cold, dark, dry place.
  3. Allow 1/2 Tablespoons mix for each qt of water, plus half a lemon. For shrimp you will need a qt of water per lb. of shrimp.
