%20Recipe%20Club.%20Two%20years%20ago%20April%20over%20at%20Angels%20Homestead%20and%20Amanda%20at%20Amanda%E2%80%99s%20Cookin%E2%80%99%20thought%20it%20would%20be%20fun%20to%20cook%20something%20off%20a%20friend%E2%80%99s%20blog%20and%20share%20the%20results,%20but%20make%20it%20bigger%20with%20a%20few%20friends.%20The%20program%20expanded%20as%20a%20way%20to%20meet%20other%20bloggers,%20cook%20and%20share,%20thus%20the%20Secret%20Recipe%20Club%20was%20born.%20I%20learned%20about%20SRC%20about%20a%20year%20ago.%20Once%20I%20met%20the%20requirements%20of%20having%20at%20least%20100%20original%20recipes%20and%20a%20recipe%20index,%20I%20applied%20for%20their%20long%20waiting%20list.%20Fast%20forward%20to%20a%20few%20weeks%20ago%20when%20April%20welcomed%20me%20into%20the%20club!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20basic%20concept%20is%20each%20blogger%20is%20assigned%20a%20blog%20from%20which%20they%20cook%20a%20recipe.%20The%20assignment%20is%20a%20secret%20(hence%20the%20club%E2%80%99s%20name)%20until%20the%20reveal%20day%20when%20everyone%20shares%20who%20they%20were%20assigned%20and%20what%20recipe%20they%20chose%20to%20work%20with.%20For%20my%20first%20month%20I%20was%20assigned%20Hapa-tite.%20Cute%20name,%20right?%20Nicole%20is%20from%20the%20DC%20area%20and%20posts%20a%20great%20mix%20of%20sweet%20and%20savory%20recipes.%20Like%20her%20latest%20post%E2%80%93Double%20Chocolate%20and%20Espresso%20Cookies.%20Hmm,%20that%20would%20have%20been%20a%20good%20recipe%20to%20try%E2%80%A6wish%20she%20had%20posted%20it%20earlier.%20Oh%20well,%20for%20another%20day.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWord%20to%20the%20wise,%20do%20not%20read%20a%20food%20blog%20when%20starving.%20You%20will%20want%20to%20make%20(or%20just%20eat)%20EVERYTHING.%20I%20was%20first%20inspired%20by%20Nicole%E2%80%99s%20quinoa%20experimentation.%20I%20love%20quinoa%20but%20for%20me%20it%E2%80%99s%20a%20forgotten%20starch.%20I%E2%80%99m%20much%20more%20likely%20to%20jump%20for%20rice%20or%20pasta%20or%20even%20potatoes,%20forgetting%20about%20the%20full%20mason%20jar%20of%20quinoa%20sitting%20in%20my%20pantry.%20But%20then%20I%20remembered%20the%20pint%20of%20blueberries%20I%20picked%20up%20a%20few%20days%20ago%20at%20the%20market.%20Ripe,%20sitting%20in%20my%20fridge,%20begging%20to%20be%20eaten.%20Nicole%E2%80%99s%20Excellent%20Blueberry%20Coffee%20Cake%20was%20exactly%20what%20I%20needed.%20The%20recipe%20has%20been%20in%20her%20family%20for%20years,%20literally%20a%20photocopy%20from%20who%20knows%20where%20with%20the%20words%20%E2%80%9Cexcellent%E2%80%9D%20scribbled%20all%20over%20it.%20The%20cake%20is%20literally%20packed%20with%20a%20full%20pint%20of%20blueberries.%20I%20dare%20you%20to%20find%20a%20bite%20not%20bursting%20with%20berries.%20How%20could%20you%20ever%20doubt%20it%E2%80%99s%20deliciousness?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECakes%20for%20me%20are%20sometimes%20a%20bit%20messy%20to%20cut%20and%20eat.%20Though%20I%20guess%20anything%20with%20coffee%20cake%20crumble%20would%20be.%20I%20opted%20to%20individualize%20the%20servings%20by%20turning%20them%20into%20muffins.%20No%20fighting%20over%20who%20got%20the%20bigger%20slice,%20muffins%20are%20all%20(approximately)%20the%20same%20size.%20In%20my%20first%20attempt%20I%20found%20the%20recipe%20as%20is%20(minus%20a%20bit%20of%20sugar)%20to%20be%20a%20bit%20dense%20for%20muffins%20and%20resembled%20more%20cookie%20dough.%20A%20quick%20fix%20of%20an%20extra%20egg%20and%20some%20canola%20oil%20helped%20to%20thin%20the%20batter%20a%20bit%20and%20make%20the%20final%20muffins%20extra%20moist%20and%20fluffy.%20And%20because%20we%20like%20to%20pretend%20things%20are%20healthy,%20even%20if%20they%20are%20loaded%20with%20butter,%20sugar%20and%20carbs,%20I%20added%20some%20oatmeal,%20to%20make%20it%20a%20bit%20more%20breakfast%20appropriate.%20You%20know,%20like%20the%20way%20oatmeal%20raisin%20cookies%20are%20perfectly%20acceptable%20for%20breakfast%20because%20they%E2%80%99re%20packed%20with%20oats%20and%20fruit.%20Trust%20me,%20you%E2%80%99ll%20live%20a%20much%20more%20delicious%20life%20following%20my%20logic.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%E2%80%98Excellent%E2%80%99%20Blueberry%20Crumb%20Muffins%20(adapted%20from%20Hapa-tite)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFOR%20THE%20TOPPING%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20350%C2%B0F.Mix%20all%20topping%20ingredients%20in%20a%20small%20bowl%20until%20crumbly%20and%20fully%20combined.%20I%20always%20find%20it%20easiest%20to%20do%20this%20with%20my%20fingers.%20Chill%20until%20ready%20to%20use.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20small%20bowl,%20sift%20together%20flours,%20salt,%20cinnamon%20and%20baking%20powder.%20Set%20aside.%20Cream%20butter%20and%20sugar%20in%20the%20bowl%20of%20a%20standing%20mixer.%20Add%20eggs,%20one%20at%20a%20time,%20mixing%20well%20between%20each%20addition.%20Add%20milk%20and%20oil%20and%20mix%20until%20fully%20combined.%20Slowly%20add%20flour%20blend,%20mixing%20until%20just%20combined.%20Stir%20in%20blueberries%20by%20hand%20with%20a%20spatula.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGrease%20your%20muffin%20tin%20or%20coat%20with%20cookin
