- 1 ¾ cups flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon + 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- pinch of salt
- zest of half an orange
- ½ cup unsalted butter, cold
- ½ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- for the glaze:
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed orange juice

%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eand%20each%20member%20can%20peruse%20their%20assigned%20blog%20to%20find%20something%20that%20they%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ewould%20like%20to%20make,%20or%20several%20things%20to%20make%20in%20the%20future.%20The%20assigned%20blogs%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eare%20kept%20completely%20secret%20until%20the%20reveal%20day%20and%20time,%20then%20you%20get%20to%20see%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ewho%20had%20your%20blog,%20and%20you%20get%20to%20post%20about%20what%20you%20made%20from%20your%20assigned%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eblog.%20It's%20a%20lot%20of%20fun,%20and%20a%20great%20way%20to%20discover%20new%20blogs%20and%20recipes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESome%20of%20my%20other%20reveals%20include%20a%20No%20Bake%20Almond%20Cheesecake,%20Pumpkin%20Doughnuts,%20Jack%20Black%20Bean%20Dip,%20and%20Spicy%20Soy%20Chorizo%20Soft%20Tacos%20with%20Chile-Lime%20Cream.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20time%20around%20I%20was%20assigned%20to%20Kitchen%20Trial%20and%20Error.%20Kate%20is%20behind%20all%20of%20the%20delicious%20stuff%20that%20is%20posted%20and%20I%20was%20pretty%20excited%20to%20peruse%20her%20site.%20There%20are%20tons%20of%20delicious%20looking%20recipes!%20So%20many%20in%20fact,%20that%20I%20bookmarked%20a%20bunch%20and%20even%20made%20two%20of%20them%20already%20:).%20I%20made%20the%20Orange%20Creamsicle%20Scones%20for%20the%20reveal,%20and%20the%20Peanut%20Butter%20Granola%20Crispy%20Bars%20for%20fun.%20The%20PBG%20Crispy%20Bars%20are%20soo%20good.%20I%20did%20put%20in%20two%20tablespoons%20less%20of%20the%20brown%20sugar%20though.%20They%20didn't%20hold%20together%20that%20well%20(potentially%20because%20of%20the%20sugar%20difference,%20brown%20sugar%20is%20sticky)%20but%20they%20were%20so%20good%20none%20of%20us%20cared.%20Who%20needs%20a%20bar%20shape%20when%20you%20can%20just%20pop%20a%20piece%20in%20your%20mouth%20and%20keep%20walking!%20I%20also%20used%20Cocoa%20Krispies%20instead%20of%20Rice%20Krispies,%20and%20regular%20chocolate%20chips%20instead%20of%20minis%20(I%20would%20go%20mini%20next%20time%20like%20I%20was%20supposed%20to).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20thought%20these%20Strawberry%20Rolls%20tooked%20amazing%20for%20a%20Sunday%20morning%20breakfast%20and%20they're%20on%20the%20table%20in%20under%20a%20hour%20(and%20a%20third%20of%20that%20is%20just%20cooling%20time).%20The%20Beer%20Battered%20Green%20Beans%20with%20Spicy%20Dipping%20Sauce%20has%20also%20been%20bookmarked%20for%20the%20future.%20I%20don't%20fry%20food%20often,%20when%20we%20do%20we%20make%20a%20big%20production%20out%20of%20it%20and%20joke%20that%20it's%20like%20the%20Texas%20State%20Fair,%20since%20they're%20known%20for%20fried%20foods%20so%20much.%20We%20just%20call%20ours%20%22Fry-Day%22%20and%20it%20is%20getting%20to%20be%20further%20and%20fewer%20between%20because%20we%20know%20we%20should%20be%20eating%20healthier.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Orange%20Creamsicle%20Scones%20are%20definitely%20worth%20the%20time%20they%20take%20to%20make%20(and%20it%20really%20doesn't%20take%20that%20much)!%20I%20feel%20like%20you%20could%20also%20skip%20the%20glaze%20and%20serve%20it%20with%20some%20whipped%20butter%20with%20orange%20zest%20mixed%20in%20and%20it%20would%20be%20another%20form%20of%20perfect%20for%20breakfast,%20because%20I'm%20sure%20enough%20not%20waiting%20until%20lunch%20or%20the%20afternoon%20to%20eat%20these.%20The%20recipe%20makes%208%20fullsize%20scones,%20but%20you%20could%20also%20make%2016%20smaller%20ones%20if%20you%20want%20to,%20why%20not!%20They%20would%20bake%20for%20a%20little%20less%20time%20though.%20In%20the%20original%20recipe%20Kate%20bakes%20them%20for%2015%20minutes%20but%20in%20my%20oven%2017%20worked%20better.%20They%20were%20golden%20brown%20around%20the%20edges%20and%20perfect%20on%20the%20inside.%20They%20were%20crunchy%20on%20the%20outside%20and%20soft%20on%20the%20inside,%20I%20sort%20of%20loved%20them.%20I%20hope%20you%20do%20too!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20Preheat%20your%20oven%20to%20375F.%20and%20line%20a%20cookie%20sheet%20with%20parchment%20paper%20or%20a%20Silpat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20Whisk%20the%20flour,%20sugar,%20baking%20powder,%20salt,%20and%20orange%20zest%20together.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECut%20the%20butter%20into%20the%20flour%20mixture%20until%20it%20resembles%20coarse%20crumbs%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eabout%20the%20size%20of%20peas%20using%20a%20pastry%20blender%20or%20your%20fingers.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4.%20Add%20the%20milk,%20orange%20juice,%20and%20vanilla%20extract%20and%20mix%20just%20until%20combined,%20being%20careful%20not%20to%20overmix%20the%20dough.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E5.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETurn%20the%20dough%20out%20onto%20the%20baking%20sheet%20and%20use%20your%20hands%20to%20form%20it%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Einto%20a%20rough%20circle%20or%20square.%20cut%20into%20about%208%20equal%20pieces.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E6.%20Bake%20for%20about%2015-17%20minutes%20then%20transfer%20to%20a%20cooling%20rack%20and%20cool%20completely%20before%20drizzling%20with%20the%20glaze.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E7.%20To%20make%20the%20glaze,%20whisk%20the%20sugar,%20vanilla,%20and%20orange
