Ingredientes

  • 3 lbs. hamburg
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tbsp. oregano
  • 1 1/2 c. Bell's stuffing mix
  • 3 green peppers
  • 4 onions
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon warm dry crushed red peppers

Direcciones

  1. Put hamburg in large bowl, add in all above seasonings. Grind peppers and onions, set aside 1 c. of the peppers and onions for sauce, add in the remainder to the hamburg and seasonings. Add in the Large eggs and mix thoroughly. Form into balls the size of golf balls and brown down in warm oil a few min on each side. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add in 2 large cans tomato puree with basil, the remaining c. of peppers and onions, 1 Tbsp. oregano, salt and pepper to taste plus 1 tsp. of warm dry crushed red peppers. Stir. Turn on low and let simmer 2 hrs. Makes 40 meatballs plus sauce for large family.
