%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20fun%20for%20either%20of%20us.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThough%20let%E2%80%99s%20be%20honest,%20any%20time%20I%20make%20a%20new%20recipe%20what%20follows%20is%20at%20least%20five%20rapid-fire%20questions%20directed%20at%20Shane%20to%20help%20me%20decide%20if%20the%20recipe%20is%20blogworthy.%20Between%20that%20and%20the%20lukewarm%20dinners%20we%20often%20eat%20after%20I%E2%80%99m%20done%20taking%20photos,%20sometimes%20I%20can%E2%80%99t%20help%20but%20wonder%20what%20he%20really%20thinks%20about%20living%20with%20a%20food%20blogger.%20Sure,%20there%E2%80%99s%20no%20shortage%20of%20tasty%20food,%20but%20at%20what%20price?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnyway,%20it%20was%20all%20worth%20it,%20because%20in%20the%20end%20I%20wound%20up%20with%20a%20cookie%20I%20really%20loved.%20I%E2%80%99m%20a%20soft%20and%20chewy%20cookie%20girl%20all%20the%20way,%20I%E2%80%99d%20be%20hard-pressed%20to%20come%20up%20with%20even%20a%20few%20thin%20and%20crispy%20cookies%20that%20I%20enjoy.%20So%20of%20course%20these%20cookies%20had%20to%20be%20soft%20and%20chewy,%20and%20they%20are!%20I%20put%20a%20few%20aside%20to%20see%20if%20they%20had%20staying%20power,%20and%20even%20on%20day%204,%20they%20still%20had%20that%20great%20texture.%20Have%20you%20guys%20heard%20about%20the%20trick%20of%20adding%20cornstarch%20to%20your%20cookies%20to%20make%20them%20super%20soft?%20I%20first%20saw%20it%20here%20on%20Kelsey%E2%80%99s%20blog%20years%20ago%20but%20only%20tried%20it%20for%20the%20first%20time%20in%20this%20recipe.%20What%20an%20easy%20trick%20to%20get%20soft%20cookies!%20I%20used%20mini%20M&M%E2%80%99s%20in%20my%20cookies%20because%20for%20whatever%20reason%20I%20much%20prefer%20them%20over%20chocolate%20chips,%20but%20the%20choice%20is%20yours.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20think%20I%20just%20might%20bake%20another%20batch%20of%20these%20using%20only%20the%20yellow%20and%20black%20M&M%E2%80%99s%20in%20support%20of%20the%20Bruins%20for%20tonight%E2%80%99s%20game.%20Apparently%20my%20cookie%20burnout%20was%20short-lived%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESoft%20and%20Chewy%20Double%20Chocolate%20M&M%20Cookies%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Efrom%20Tracey%E2%80%99s%20Culinary%20Adventures%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%7BNote:%20I%20press%20a%20few%20M&M%E2%80%99s%20into%20the%20tops%20of%20the%20cookie%20dough%20balls%20before%20baking%20so%20the%20M&M%E2%80%99s%20stay%20on%20top%20and%20the%20cookies%20are%20more%20colorful%20after%20baking.%20You%20can%20do%20the%20same%20thing%20with%20chocolate%20chips%20if%20you%20want.%7D%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20350%20F.%20Line%20two%20baking%20sheets%20with%20parchment%20paper.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20medium%20bowl,%20sift%20the%20flour,%20cocoa%20powder,%20cornstarch,%20baking%20soda,%20and%20salt%20together%20(you%20could%20just%20whisk,%20but%20I%20like%20to%20sift%20cocoa%20powder%20to%20make%20sure%20I%20get%20all%20the%20lumps%20out).%20In%20the%20bowl%20of%20a%20stand%20mixer%20fitted%20with%20the%20paddle%20attachment,%20cream%20the%20butter%20and%20both%20sugars%20on%20medium%20speed%20until%20light%20and%20fluffy,%20about%203%20minutes.%20Beat%20in%20the%20egg%20and%20then%20the%20vanilla.%20With%20the%20mixer%20on%20low,%20gradually%20add%20the%20dry%20ingredients,%20beating%20just%20until%20combined.%20Mix%20in%20the%20mini%20M&M%E2%80%99s.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUsing%20a%20small%20cookie%20scoop%20(mine%20measures%20about%201%201/2%20inches%20across),%20portion%20the%20batter%20onto%20the%20prepared%20baking%20sheets,%20spacing%20the%20cookies%20about%202%20inches%20apart.%20Bake%20for%20about%208%20minutes%20(rotating%20the%20baking%20sheets%20halfway%20through%20if%20you%E2%80%99re%20doing%20both%20at%20once)%20or%20until%20the%20edges%20of%20the%20cookies%20are%20set%20(the%20centers%20may%20look%20underdone%20%E2%80%93%20don%E2%80%99t%20overbake!).%20Transfer%20the%20baking%20sheets%20to%20wire%20racks%20and%20let%20the%20cookies%20cool%20for%20a%20few%20minutes%20then%20remove%20the%20cookies%20to%20the%20wire%20rack%20to%20cool%20completely.%20Repeat%20with%20all%20of%20the%20dough.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMakes%20about%202%20dozen%20cookies%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
