Soft Garlic Bread Sticks

Ingredientes

  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 c. hot water
  • 2 T sugar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 1/2 c. all purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 T water
  • Italian seasoning
  • Garlic salt
  • Garlic pwdr

Direcciones

  1. In large mixing bowl, put together yeast, 1 1/2 cups warm water, sugar, and 1 1/4 tsp salt. Stir to dissolve and allow to sit 5 min. Gradually stir in flour, blending well to make a smooth dough. Turn out dough on a floured surface and knead till smooth and elastic, 8-10 min. Divide dough into 28 equal pcs. Roll each piece into an approximately 8 x 1/4 inch pencil shaped bread stick. Place on greased baking sheet.In a small bowl, put together egg with 1 tbsp water. Brush mix over bread sticks and sprinkle with Italian seasoning, garlic pwdr and garlic salt. Cover and let rise 25 min. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Bake 15-20 min or possibly till golden. Can also be topped with Parmesan cheese, sesame seeds or possibly poppy seeds.
