%20and%20rolled%20out.%20I%20then%20sprinkled%20(liberally)%20Gruyere%20cheese%20and%20italian%20herbs.%20I%20rolled%20each%20of%20the%20two%20rolled%20out%20doughs%20into%20a%20log.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20cut%20each%20log%20in%20half%20and%20fit%20into%20a%209%22%20cake%20pan.%20I%20then%20let%20rise%20again%20until%20the%20dough%20was%20above%20the%20top%20of%20the%20pan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EVoila.%20Then%20I%20baked%20at%20350%20for%20about%2030%20minutes.%20This%20was%20a%20huge%20success.%20Just%20look%20what%20you%20bite%20into%20when%20you%20take%20your%20first%20bite.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOk,%20the%20picture%20is%20a%20little%20blurry%20but%20you%20get%20the%20idea.%20This%20bread%20was%20awesome.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20made%20lamb%20chops%20to%20go%20with%20the%20bread.%20Sad%20part%20is%20that%20we%20have%20used%20all%20our%20lamb.%20Good%20news%20is%20that%20Leyden%20Glen%20Farm%20has%20another%20one%20for%20us%20(waving%20to%20Kristen).%20The%20recipe%20we%20used%20was%20from%20Pure%20Simple%20Cooking%20by%20Diana%20Henry.%20This%20is%20one%20of%20my%20favorite%20cookbooks%20and%20I%20have%20made%20almost%20everything%20in%20there.%20This%20recipe%20was%20Harissa%20Marinated%20Lamb%20Chops%20with%20Bean%20Chickpea%20Puree.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDinner%20was%20awesome.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20Sunday%20was%20to%20be%20the%20hand%20rolled%20couscous%20that%20we%20didn't%20make%20last%20weekend%20because%20Dr.%20Food%20had%20the%20stomach%20flu.%20I%20had%20every%20intention%20of%20doing%20it%20this%20last%20Sunday%20but%20by%20the%20time%20we%20went%20grocery%20shopping%20and%20ran%20errands%20my%20body%20hurt.%20I%20know%20that%20I%20have%20been%20whining%20a%20lot%20about%20%22hurting%22%20but%20this%20compressed%20disc%20thing%20sucks.%20Luckily%20I%20am%20going%20for%20a%20cortisone%20shot%20on%20friday%20(ouch)%20and%20I%20am%20hoping%20to%20be%20like%20new%20again.%20Well%20maybe%20that%20is%20overstating%20it%20a%20bit.%20Why%20am%20I%20blabbing%20on%20about%20my%20ailments?%20It%20is%20because%20I%20backed%20out%20of%20the%20hand%20rolled%20couscous%20because%20of%20pain.%20I%20still%20went%20ahead%20to%20make%20the%20goat%20tagine%20that%20we%20wanted%20to%20make.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20it%20started%20off%20well%20enough...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eand%20turned%20to%20this.%20Ew.%20I%20then%20asked%20my%20idol%20...%20um,%20BFF%20uh,%20amazing%20source%20of%20all%20things%20tagine...Paula%20Wolfert,%20what%20I%20did%20wrong.%20She%20then%20told%20me%20about%20Fava%20beans%20and%20how%20you%20cook%20them.%20These%20were%20dried%20beans%20and%20I%20did%20a%20quick%20soak%20on%20them.%20Paula%20told%20me%20that%20you%20really%20can't%20do%20that%20with%20old%20world%20beans.%20Live%20and%20learn.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20will%20leave%20you%20with%20a%20picture%20of%20a%20happy%20customer%20in%20my%20kitchen.%20My%20P-man%20loves%20Gamma's%20cooking.%20Shut%20up,%20I%20didn't%20feed%20him%20the%20dried%20out%20goat.%20That%20is%20brisket%20and%20%22braplie%22%20on%20his%20plate.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHarissa%20Marinated%20Lamb%20Chops%20with%20Chickpea%20Puree%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eadapted%20from%20Pure%20Simple%20Cooking%20-%20Diana%20Henry%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20Mix%20harissa%20with%20garlic,%20oil,%20lemon%20juice,%20and%20mint%20and%20put%20the%20chops%20into%20it,%20turning%20them%20over%20to%20get%20well%20coated.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECover%20and%20put%20them%20in%20the%20refrigerator.%20Leave%20them%20to%20marinate%20for%201%201/2%20hours%20to%20overnight,%20turning%20them%20every%20so%20often.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20To%20make%20the%20chickpea%20puree,%20simply%20chuck%20everything%20(except%20the%20onion%20and%20cilantro)%20into%20the%20food%20processor,%20with%20salt%20and%20pepper%20to%20taste,%20and%20blend.%20The%20mixture%20doesn't%20have%20to%20be%20absolutely%20smooth.%20Fry%20chopped%20onion%20in%20a%20little%20oil%20until%20golden%20brown%20and%20slightly%20singed%20in%20some%20parts.%20Sprinkle%20onion%20and%20cilantro%20over%20the%20puree.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20Heat%20a%20grill%20pan%20for%20the%20chops.%20Salt%20the%20chops%20at%20the%20last%20minute%20and%20then%20cook%20them%20over%20high%20heat%20for%20about%203%20minutes%20on%20each%20side,%20until%20browned%20but%20still%20pink%20in%20the%20middle.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4.%20Serve%20with%20chickpea%20puree.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
