Ingredientes

  • 1 c. unsifted flour
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 1 tsp baking pwdr
  • 1 c. starter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp melted sugar
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 1/2 tsp sugar (so much)

Direcciones

  1. Stir together salt, soda, sugar, baking pwdr, and flour.
  2. Cut in shortening. Stir in starter till it forms soft dough which cleans sides of bowl. Knead in bowl 30 seconds.
  3. Roll on lightly floured board 1/2" thick. Cut with 2" cutter.
  4. Brush tops with butter. Let rest 15 min. Bake at 425 deg. F. for 12 min.
  5. Makes 16 biscuts.
  6. For whole wheat: Use 1 C whole wheat flour in place of white flour.
  7. Cinnamon Raisin: Use 1/4 C sugar, add in 3/4 t cinnamon and 1/4 t nutmeg. Add in 1/3 C raisins.
