Sourdough Pumpernickel Bread

Ingredientes

  • 1 1/2 c. starter
  • 2 tbsp. minced caraway seeds
  • 2 c. unsifted rye flour
  • 1/2 c. boiling warm black coffee

Direcciones

  1. Pour boiling coffee over minced caraway seed. Let cold and then add in to the flour and starter that have been mixed well. Let stand overnight and then add in: 1/4 c. powdered skim lowfat milk 2 teaspoon salt 1 pkg. dry yeast 3 tbsp. melted shortening 1/2 c. whole lowfat milk 2 3/4 c. white flour
  2. Set in a covered bowl till it rises double. Then knead on a floured board and shape into 2 round loaves on a baking sheet. Let rise till double and bake for 1/2 hour or possibly more, till done.
