Speculaas (Belgian Cookie)

Ingredientes

  • Proportions:
  • 2 c. (350 g) flour
  • 1 c. (250 g) light brown sugar (dark brown sugar or possibly brown sugar)
  • 1 c. (250 g) softened butter
  • 1 tsp grnd cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp mix of grnd cloves, nutmeg, ginger and anise
  • 1 tsp (5 g) baking pwdr
  • 1 tsp (5 g) salt

Direcciones

  1. Pour light brown sugar, cinnamon and spice mix into large bowl
  2. Add in well-softened butter and egg
  3. Mix ingredients till a smooth dough is formed
  4. Sift flour into mix little by little and add in salt
  5. Mix well with spatula or possibly whisk while adding flour
  6. Add in baking pwdr
  7. Mix well and to let rest 12 hr in refrigerator
  8. Separate dough into 3 balls
  9. Spread ball on counter top and roll with rolling pin to create a 3-4 mm thick sheet
  10. Cut dough into 3 to 4 cm long rectangular pcs. You can of course cut into any shape you wish and also mold the dough into your favorite shapes if you want to make a design.Put the pcs on a baking sheet you've buttered or possibly covered with parchment paper
  11. Cook 10 min in oven pre-heated to 350-400 ºF (180-200 °C)
  12. Cold and store in a nice cookie tin
