%20and%20whilst%20I%20had%20offered%20some%20to%20my%20aunt,%20she%20politely%20declined%20and%20it%20left%20me%20with%20my%204kg%20of%20preserving%20sugar%20to%20play%20with!%20It%20was%20something%20quite%20new%20to%20me%20%E2%80%93%20I%20am%20lazy%20and%20have%20always%20got%20away%20with%20using%20regular%20sugar%20with%20the%20odd%20apple%20for%20luck%20but%20as%20the%20kiwi%20fruit%20were%20packing%20their%20bags%20and%20about%20to%20make%20their%20final%20bid%20for%20bin%20bag%20freedom,%20it%20was%20time%20to%20see%20if%20they%20could%20make%20a%20harmonious%20match%E2%80%A6.so%20other%20than%20a%20brief%20amount%20of%20stirring%20the%20pan%20into%20the%20night%20I%20really%20didn%E2%80%99t%20have%20much%20to%20lose..%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20was%20quite%20a%20frugal%20jam%20%E2%80%93%20as%20well%20as%20the%20sugar%20being%20reduced%20the%20kiwi%20also%20were%20purchased%20yellow%20stickered,%20weirdly%20I%20have%20found%20I%20can%E2%80%99t%20tolerate%20kiwi%20eaten%20raw%20anymore%20%E2%80%93%20my%20mouth%20goes%20painfully%20fuzzy%20but%20fortunately%20the%20jam%20is%20edible%20and%20doesn%E2%80%99t%20affect%20me%20and%20I%20was%20glad%20not%20to%20have%20thrown%20the%20poor%20little%20kiwi%20away!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFortunately%20despite%20the%20jam%20initially%20smelling%20slightly%20overwhelming%20spicing%20wise%20and%20had%20me%20slightly%20doubting%20if%20my%20brain%20was%20wired%20correctly%20it%20was%20in%20fact%20the%20perfect%20amount%20when%20finished%20%E2%80%93%20its%20fragrant,%20a%20little%20punchy%20and%20makes%20for%20excellent%20hot%20buttered%20toast%20or%20muffins,%20or%20crumpets%20..or%20whatever%20you%20want%20to%20toast%20or%20bake%20really!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMakes%202%20standard%20sized%20jars%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMethod:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20everything%20in%20a%20large%20heavy%20based%20saucepan%20and%20gently%20bring%20to%20the%20boil.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20gently%20simmer%20for%20an%20hour%20or%20so,%20or%20until%20the%20mixture%20has%20broken%20down%20and%20thickened%20nicely.%20Use%20a%20hand%20blender%20to%20reduced%20to%20a%20more%20smoother%20jam%20if%20preferred.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20into%20the%20prepared%20sterilised%20jars,%20put%20the%20lid%20on%20and%20allow%20to%20cool.%20Store%20in%20the%20fridge%20once%20opened%20and%20it%20will%20keep%20for%20a%20while%20-%20mine%20is%20still%20going%20strong!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEasy%20as%20that!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20my%20jam%20used%20up%20the%20sad,%20neglected%20Kiwi%20I%20am%20sending%20this%20recipe%20over%20to%20Elizabeth's%20Ktichen%20Diary%20No%20Waste%20Food%20Challenge%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20fancy%20even%20more%20jam%20do%20check%20out%20these%20fabulous%20jam%20recipes:%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
