.%20The%20grass%20you%20see%20there%20is%20the%20old%20moat.%20It%20has%20since%20been%20filled%20in%20with%20grass.%20The%20London%20Tower%20is%20not%20just%20one%20tower%20-%20it%20is%20essentially%20the%20old%20village%20where%20kings%20and%20queens%20lived,%20and%20where%20they%20were%20beheaded.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20had%20a%20great%20tour%20guide,%20the%20woman%20on%20the%20right.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EElizabeth%20(seen%20above%20on%20the%20far%20right)%20had%20written%20a%20paper%20about%20Rudolf%20Hess%20(Hitler's%20Secretary)%20last%20year%20in%20school.%20The%20tour%20guide%20mentioned%20that%20Hess%20had%20been%20imprisoned%20at%20the%20London%20Tower%20for%20a%20couple%20of%20days%20and%20there%20was%20a%20letter%20with%20his%20signature%20on%20it%20there.%20When%20Elizabeth%20told%20the%20tour%20guide%20about%20her%20paper,%20she%20took%20the%20seven%20of%20us%20to%20the%20off-limits%20place%20where%20the%20paper%20was.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20storey%20goes%20that%20Hess%20was%20put%20into%20prison,%20but%20he%20did%20not%20know%20where%20he%20was%20being%20held.%20A%20guard%20asked%20him%20for%20his%20signature%20and%20it%20was%20a%20piece%20of%20paper%20that%20said%20Tower%20of%20London.%20Hess%20said,%20%22oh,%20so%20that's%20where%20I%20am.%22%20and%20signed%20the%20paper.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20can%20see%20the%20letter%20and%20the%20story%20in%20the%20frame%20below.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20was%20a%20very%20special%20treat%20to%20get%20to%20see%20that,%20and%20all%20of%20the%20other%20memorabilia%20that%20they%20had%20in%20this%20room.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere's%20a%20picture%20of%20some%20of%20the%20Tower%20of%20London.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAt%20several%20places%20at%20the%20entrance%20to%20the%20city%20of%20London,%20you%20will%20see%20a%20dragon.%20The%20bus%20tour%20guide%20said%20that%20they%20are%20to%20protect%20the%20city.%20We%20found%20one%20where%20we%20could%20get%20the%20girls%20picture%20with%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20this,%20we%20decided%20to%20do%20some%20shopping.%20We%20went%20to%20Covent%20Gardens.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere's%20what%20I%20originally%20posted%20that%20afternoon.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWell,%20my%20friend%20was%20just%20pick%20picketed%20here%20at%20Covent%20Gardens.%20Good%20news%20is%20that%20Melissa%20felt%20what%20was%20happening%20and%20made%20a%20fuss.%20The%20store%20is%20currently%20holding%20the%20lady%20and%20we%20are%20waiting%20on%20the%20police.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20the%20police%20ever%20get%20here%20we%20think%20all%20will%20be%20well.%20This%20will%20be%20a%20story%20we%20will%20always%20tell%20about%20this%20trip.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20will%20tell%20more%20about%20it%20later.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESent%20via%20BlackBerry%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EToo%20bad%20we%20hadn't%20seen%20this%20sign%20outside%20the%20store%20where%20we%20shopping.%20We%20might%20have%20gone%20somewhere%20else.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhat%20happened%20was%20a%20woman%20was%20following%20around%20Melissa%20the%20whole%20time%20we%20were%20in%20this%20store.%20When%20Melissa%20was%20at%20the%20check-out%20counter,%20she%20felt%20something%20and%20turned%20around%20to%20see%20her%20money%20on%20the%20floor.%20All%20of%20it%20was%20there%20except%20for%2050%20pounds.%20She%20realized%20that%20the%20woman%20behind%20her%20had%20opened%20her%20purse%20and%20pulled%20it%20out,%20she%20had%20just%20dropped%20it%20on%20the%20floor.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMelissa%20started%20saying,%20%22you%20stole%20my%20money!%22%20The%20woman%20denied%20everything%20and%20ran%20down%20to%20the%20basement.%20The%20store%20manager,%20after%20talking%20to%20the%20woman%20for%20a%20while,%20got%20her%20to%20admit%20that%20she%20had%20stole%20the%20money%20and%20she%20gave%20it%20back%20to%20the%20manager.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20the%20meantime,%20we%20waited%20for%20the%20police%20to%20arrive%20-%20and%20we%20waited%20for%202%20hours.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere's%20Bailey,%20Melissa%20and%20Tiffany%20waiting%20patiently%20for%20the%20police.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFinally%20they%20came%20and%20they%20arrested%20the%20woman.%20She's%20in%20this%20van.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20we%20had%20to%20go%20to%20the%20police%20station%20and%20give%20our%20statements.%20Of%20course,%20we%20had%20to%20walk%20a%20ways%20to%20get%20there.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20whole%20adventure%20took%20at%20least%204-5%20hours,%20and%20it%20was%20not%20how%20we%20wanted%20to%20spend%20Friday%20night%20in%20London.%20We%20had%20planned%20to%20get%20home%20early%20and%20do%20some%20laundry%20to%20get%20ready%20to%20leave%20for%20camp%20the%20next%20day.%20Oh%20well.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere's%20all%20of%20us%20going%20down%20into%20the%20tube%20station,%20very%20late%20at%20night.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOn%20the%20good%20side,%20Melissa%20received%20a%20letter%20from%20the%20London%20police%20department%20today%20apologizing%20for%20her%20ordeal.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20though%20that%20was%20pretty%20cool.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECheers!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
