Receta Strawberry Scones
Strawberry Scones
This recipe makes 4 scones, perfect for a quick breakfast or an anytime snack:) I love to drizzle honey on these scones while they are still warm! Yum!
- 1-1/2 cups flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/8 t. salt
- 2 t baking powder
- 1/4 cup butter, cold and cubed
- 3 T honey-strawberry Greek yogurt
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup chopped strawberries, fresh or whole, frozen and thawed
- 1 t lemon zest
- coarse sugar
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Heat oven 425
- In medium bowl mix flour, sugar, salt and baking powder
- Cut in cold, cubed butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs
- In small bowl, mix together egg and yogurt
Add egg mixture to flour mixture, mix until moistened. Add chopped strawberries and lemon zest.
Turn mixture onto a floured surface and knead gently 6-8 times
Pat into a 6 inch circle
Cut into 4 wedges
Separate and place on parchment lined baking sheet
Sprinkle with sugar
Bake at 425 for 12-15 minutes
