%20has%20been%20winning%20a%20wider%20and%20wider%20audience%20for%20its%20irritatingly%20photogenic%20author,%20Kyra%20Bussanich,%20since%20her%20recent%20third%20Cupcake%20Wars%20win%20on%20television.%20I%20am%20late%20to%20knowing%20about%20Kyra%20and%20her%20Oregon%20bakery,%20being%20cable%20TV-less%20on%20our%20rural%20street,%20but%20after%20receiving%20a%20complimentary%20copy%20of%20her%20new%20cookbook%20from%20the%20publisher%20and%20trying%20my%20hand%20at%20one%20of%20her%20fabulous%20recipes,%20I%20am%20a%20fan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20book%20is%20an%20attractive%20one%20on%20the%20shelf,%20with%20tantalizing%20photos%20throughout,%20and%20a%20wealth%20of%20intriguing%20recipes.%20She%20has%20a%20brief,%20but%20illuminating%20section%20on%20the%20gluten-free%20flours%20and%20binders%20she%20prefers%20to%20use%20and%20the%20recipes%20are%20are%20conveniently%20labeled%20as%20being%20Easy,%20Intermediate%20or%20Advanced.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThere%20are%20many%20baking%20standards%20for%20cookies,%20muffins,%20scones,%20tarts%20and%20breads%20among%20the%20pages,%20but%20after%20the%20Cupcake%20Wars%20buildup%20I%20cut%20to%20the%20chase%20to%20pore%20through%20the%20wonderfully%20exotic%20chapter%20of%20Cupcake%20recipes:%20African%20Yam%20Cupcakes%20with%20Clove%20Mascarpone%20Whipped%20Cream,%20Orange-Vanilla%20Dreamsicle%20Cupcakes,%20Persian%20Love%20Cakes%20with%20Cardamom%20Buttercream,%20and%20Champagne%20Cupcakes%20(Dan%20has%20requested%20these%20to%20be%20baked%20up%20soon).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20proof%20is%20always%20in%20the%20pudding,%20so%20to%20speak,%20with%20reviewing%20a%20cookbook,%20so%20I%20flipped%20through%20to%20see%20what%20recipe%20called%20out%20to%20me%20(AKA,%20one%20for%20which%20I%20had%20all%20the%20ingredients%20and%20bakery%20equipment%20on%20hand).%20Lemon%20Madeleines%20(Intermediate)%20won%20out%20(I%20actually%20own%20the%20baking%20pan%20needed%20to%20make%20these%20delicate%20shell-shaped%20cookies%20found%20at%20a%20local%20dollar%20store%20and%20a%20plastic%20quart%20bag%20with%20the%20end%20snipped%20off%20served%20as%20my%20pastry%20bag)%20and%20they%20were%20easy%20enough%20to%20make.%20They%20were%20just%20the%20right%20amount%20of%20sweetness%20and%20burst%20of%20bright%20lemon%20flavor%20and%20a%20perfect%20tea%20time%20treat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20have%20planned%20to%20make%20some%20of%20her%20scrumptious%20sounding%20Yam%20Biscuits%20for%20our%20Thanksgiving%20feast%20next%20week,%20and%20there%20are%20a%20bunch%20of%20other%20paper%20slips%20bookmarking%20other%20recipes%20to%20try%20in%20the%20near%20future,%20so%20I%20can%20unabashedly%20affirm%20that%20this%20new%20cookbook%20is%20a%20real%20keeper.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENote:%20I%20received%20a%20review%20copy%20of%20this%20cookbook%20from%20the%20publisher%20but%20as%20always,%20my%20comments%20are%20completely%20my%20own.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
