%20side%20dish.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGrowing%20up%20I%20hated%20sweet%20potatos.%20The%20only%20time%20of%20year%20we%20ever%20had%20them%20was%20Thanksgiving.%20We%20had%20the%20canned%20yam%20topped%20with%20marshmallow%20variety%20and%20it%20was%20awful.%20I%20wouldnt%20even%20think%20about%20trying%20them.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20one%20day%20I%20had%20sweet%20potato%20fries%20at%20a%20restaurant%20with%20a%20honey%20lime%20dipping%20sauce...%20and%20they%20were%20delicious.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20I%20got%20a%20little%20braver...%20and%20tried%20a%20baked%20sweet%20potato%20at%20another%20restaurant,%20sprinkled%20with%20brown%20sugar%20and%20butter.%20Also%20excellent.%20So%20then%20I%20tried%20making%20them%20at%20home%20and%20I%20discovered,%20that%20I%20really%20liked%20sweet%20potatos...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20now%20I%20think%20they%20are%20my%20new%20favorite%20side%20dish.%20So%20long%20as%20they%20aren't%20mashed.%20I%20still%20dont%20like%20mashed%20potatos,%20sweet%20or%20not.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESweet%20Potato%20Bake%20with%20Cinnamon%20Crunch%20Topping%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20400%20degrees%20and%20butter%20or%20spray%20a%209x13%20baking%20dish.%20Peel%20and%20chop%20the%20sweet%20potatos%20and%20apples%20into%20large%20chunks.%20Add%20cranberries%20and%20toss%20with%20brown%20sugar%20and%201/2%20of%20cinnamon%20and%201/2%20tsp%20ginger,%20vanilla%20extract%20and%20orange%20juice.%20Cover%20with%20foil%20and%20bake%20for%20about%2030%20minutes.%20Meanwhile%20mix%20together%20flour,%20remaining%20brown%20sugar,%20spices,%20and%20cut%20in%20butter%20using%20a%20pastry%20blender%20or%20forks%20until%20it%20forms%20a%20crumble.%20Add%20pecans%20and%20sprinkle%20over%20the%20top%20of%20potato%20mix.%20Continue%20baking%20uncovered%20for%20another%2030%20-%2045%20minutes%20until%20potatos%20are%20fork%20tender.%20Recover%20with%20foil%20if%20top%20begins%20to%20brown%20too%20much.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
