Okay, okay I admit it. I am a Nutella junkie. I have to be very careful and eat it sparingly, but I do, occasionally as a treat and I have to also admit that I generally just eat it on a spoon. Why waste time with some other vehicle for this ooey gooey goodness. I have not delved into the world of baking with Nutella. Until now. Watch out world. Boy oh boy was I glad that I did even The Husband liked this one, not bad, not bad at all he said. High praise indeed! The combination of these two flavors is one that is sure to please.

Ingredientes

Cost per serving $0.95 view details
  • 1 container (8 ounce) crescent rolls
  • 4-6 sweet potatoes (cook enough to make 1/2 cup puree)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 8 teaspoons Nutella

Direcciones

  1. Preheat over to 350 degrees. Peel and cook sweet potatoes. Drain and puree in food processor with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Return to low heat and cook for about 5-10 minutes, stirring constantly so that the spices and the sugar blend well. Set aside and cool.
  2. On a cutting board lay out the 8 triangles of the crescent rolls. Place two triangles together on a greased cookie sheet so that it makes a rectangle shape. Be sure to pinch the seams together well. You don’t want the mixture to leak out while baking. Repeat this until you have four rectangles lying on the cookie sheet.
  3. Spoon 2 teaspoons on Nutella on each rectangle. Smooth out evenly and not all the way out to the edge of the rectangle. Leave approximately 1/4 inch all around of dough visible. Now spoon 2 tablespoons of the sweet potato puree on top of the Nutella. Roll each rectangle carefully until all the filling is nicely tucked away. Give each end of the roll a pat to make sure that all loose dough is tucked in. Place seam side down on the baking sheet. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 13-15 minutes until golden brown. Serves 4. Serve warm or cold. Enjoy!
