.%20%20This%20is%20the%20tour%20we%20were%20invited%20to%20take.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGeneral%20thoughts%20on%20the%20tour:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdam%20and%20I%20both%20had%20a%20wonderful%20time%20(the%202.5%20hours%20flew%20by)%20and%20agree%20that%20we%20would%20like%20to%20check%20out%20Sugartooth%20Tours%20again%20on%20our%20own%20this%20summer.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20tours%20run%20rain%20or%20shine,%20so%20be%20sure%20to%20dress%20accordingly.%20%20We%20got%20lucky%20with%20a%20%E2%80%9Cwarm%E2%80%9D%2040%20degree%20night,%20but%20you%20kept%20moving%20when%20you%20were%20outside%20so%20there%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20much%20time%20to%20get%20cold.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBring%20water!%20%20Sugar%20makes%20me%20quite%20thirsty.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20ended%20up%20taking%20home%20lots%20of%20leftovers,%20so%20save%20yourself%20some%20extra%20room%20in%20your%20bag.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20stops:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%7B1%7D%20We%20started%20at%20City%20Cakes,%20who%20are%20known%20for%20their%20gorgeous%20cake%20decorating%20but%20have%20also%20branched%20out%20into%20giant%201/2%20pound%20cookies%20that%20are%20baked%203%20times%20and%20reshaped%20in%20between%20trips%20to%20the%20oven.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESome%20of%20the%20flavors%20included%20chocolate%20chip,%20snickerdoodle,%20ginger%20spice,%20triple%20chocolate%20with%20clove,%20and%20peanut%20butter%20with%20Reeses%20Pieces.%20%20Adam%20I%20got%20red%20velvet%20stuffed%20with%20cream%20cheese%20frosting.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECrispy%20on%20the%20outside%20and%20gooey%20on%20the%20inside,%20this%20was%20delicious.%20%20Note%20%E2%80%93%20you%20got%20the%20entire%20cookie,%20they%20just%20cut%20it%20in%20halves%20so%20you%20can%20eat%20while%20you%20walk.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%7B2%7D%20Next%20we%20headed%20into%20Chelsea%20Market%20to%20Amy%E2%80%99s%20Bread%20for%20hot%20chocolate%20with%20homemade%20marshmallows.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETheir%20hot%20chocolate%20is%20pure%20ganache%20mixed%20with%20steamed%20milk.%20%20It%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20as%20gloriously%20thick%20as%20the%20stuff%20from%20Max%20Brenner,%20but%20it%20was%20flavorful%20and%20not%20too%20sweet.%20%20The%20marshmallows%20were%20the%20best%20we%E2%80%99ve%20ever%20had.%20%20Adam%20usually%20turns%20up%20his%20nose%20at%20marshmallows%20on%20cocoa%20but%20even%20he%20loved%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENote%20%E2%80%93%20we%20were%20encouraged%20to%20fill%20up%20the%20(full-sized)%20cup,%20and%20even%20refill%20for%20the%20road,%20but%20I%20was%20trying%20to%20pace%20myself.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%7B3%7D%20Then%20we%20trekked%20on%20the%20High%20Line%20%E2%80%93%20gorgeous%20at%20night%20%E2%80%93%20to%20Sugar%20Factory,%20a%20Vegas%20import%20famous%20for%20their%20rhinestone-bedazzled%20lollipop%20sticks,%20of%20course.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThey%20also%20had%20giant%20walls%20of%20candy%20and%20we%20were%20given%20small%20take-out%20boxes%20and%20told%20to%20go%20crazy.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThey%20had%20a%20good%20variety,%20including%20cola%20bottles,%20chocolate-covered%20gummy%20bears,%20and%20several%20themed%20options%20for%20Valentine%E2%80%99s.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%7B4%7D%20Heading%20into%20West%20Village,%20we%20stopped%20at%20Chocolate%20Bar%20where%20we%20were%20taught%20the%20proper%20way%20to%20taste%20a%20truffle.%20%20CB%20was%20a%20cute%20spot,%20boasting%20many%20nicely%20wrapped,%20fun%20flavors.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdam%20was%20enticed%20into%20buying%20(and%20eating)%20a%20full-sized%20candy%20bar!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThey%20had%20a%20good%20variety%20of%20truffles,%20and%20I%20choose%20grapefruit%20and%20cajeta.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECajeta%20=%20condensed%20milk%20caramel%20=%20Mexican%20dulce%20de%20leche%20=%20swoon.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%7B5%7D%20Allyson%20noted%20that%20you%20pretty%20much%20have%20to%20include%20macarons,%20and%20they%20felt%20that%20Sugar%20&%20Plumm%20has%20the%20best%20in%20Manhattan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThey%20have%20some%20inventive%20flavors%20%E2%80%93%20strawberry%20poppyseed,%20violet%20blackcurrant,%20chocolate-covered%20banana!%20%E2%80%93%20and%20are%20made%20in%20New%20Jersey%20so%20they%20don%E2%80%99t%20suffer%20from%20a%20long%20shipping%20time%20from%20France.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20very%20much%20enjoyed%20the%20salted%20caramel%20and%20Adam,%20who%20%E2%80%9Chates%E2%80%9D%20macarons,%20went%20back%20for%20seconds%20of%20the%20pistachio!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%7B6%7D%20Finally,%20we%20ended%20at%20Sweet%20Revenge%20for%20chocolate%20and%20peanut%20butter%20cupcakes.%20%20They%20are%20known%20for%20their%20cupcake%20and%20wine%20or%20beer%20pairings%20so%20we%20had%20the%20option%20of%20paying%20extra%20for%20the%20recommended%20Malbec%20or%20Hefeweizen,%20but%20everyone%20on%20our%20tour%20opted%20to%20take%20their%20cupcake%20to%20go.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo,%20six;%20apparently%20six%20desserts%20is%20overkill%20;)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlease%20note%20%E2%80%93%20Sugartooth%20Tours%20brought%20Adam%20and%20I%20on%20the%20tour%20free%20of%20charge%20so%20we%20could%20see%20what%20it%20was%20all%20about.%20%20I%20was%20not%20provided%20with%20further%20compensation%20for%20this%20post.%20%20A
