Ingredientes

  • 3 ounce. grnd beef (crumbled into 1/2 inch pcs)
  • 3 ounce. Italian sausage, medium warm (crumbled into 1/2 inch pcs)
  • 1/8 teaspoon warm red chili peppers, dry
  • 12 ounce. Italian plum tomatoes, seeded, liquid removed, minced
  • 1 tbsp. parsley, chopped
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon garlic, chopped
  • 3 tbsp. roasted red bell peppers (Progresso, cut into 1/4 inch strips)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Oregano, dry, whole
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Fresh grnd black pepper
  • 2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil

Direcciones

  1. Preheat 12 inch saute/fry pan over medium high heat. Sprinkle 1/4 tsp. of salt over bottom of pan, to aid in browning and prevent meat from sticking. Add in sausage and grnd beef a little at a time. Meat should sizzle and smoke. let meat brown on one side then stir. Cook to medium rare and drain off excess fat. Add in all remaining ingredients (except oil.) Simmer uncovered about 30 min till flavors blend and sauce thickens. Stir in extra virgin olive oil to bind sauce.
