%20John%20told%20us%20that%20he%20was%20going%20to%20be%20on%20his%20way.%20%20As%20we%20thanked%20him%20for%20a%20very%20enjoyable%20afternoon%20he%20gave%20me%20a%20quick%20hug%20and%20with%20a%20smile,%20pressed%20a%20bottle%20of%20the%20Merlot%20I%20had%20so%20enjoyed%20into%20my%20hands%20saying,%20%22This%20is%20for%20you,%22%20and%20sauntered%20out%20the%20door.%20%20So%20John...%20thank%20you%20for%20the%20Merlot!%20%20I'm%20am%20enjoying%20it%20in%20my%20Danza%20Del%20Sol%20glass%20as%20I%20type%20and%20as%20promised,%20we%20are%20thinking%20of%20you!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EScallion%20dipping%20sauce%20with%20focacciaOn%20down%20the%20road,%20John's%20next%20suggestion%20for%20our%20last%20tasting%20of%20the%20day%20as%20well%20as%20an%20extraordinarily%20tasty%20lunch%20at%20Ponte%20Winery%20brought%20us%20to%20Hilary,%20a%20most%20delightful%20girl%20serving%20us%20in%20the%20restaurant%20.%20%20The%20reds%20again%20were%20robust%20and%20gratifying,%20and%20the%20meal,%20beginning%20with%20the%20focaccia%20and%20a%20most%20amazing%20Scallion%20Dipping%20Sauce%20followed%20by%20a%20shared%20Grilled%20Romaine%20Salad,%20delectable%20Halibut%20for%20me%20and%20a%20tasty%20pulled%20pork%20for%20my%20husband%20was%20beyond%20delicious.%20%20Hilary%20(thankfully!)%20highly%20recommended%20the%20creamy%20Vanilla%20Bean%20Creme%20Brulee%20which%20was%20topped%20with%20fresh%20berries%20and%20we%20smiled%20with%20pleasure%20at%20the%20end%20of%20our%20day.%20%20Hilary's%20first%20wedding%20anniversary%20is%20this%20month,%20and%20we%20would%20like%20to%20send%20our%20best%20wishes%20her%20and%20her%20husband%20(we%20think%20he%20made%20quite%20a%20catch!).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EZinfandel%20grapes%20with%20my%20Zinfandel!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20we%20headed%20home%20with%20full%20bellies,%20relaxed%20minds,%20and%20bags%20full%20of%20wine,%20oils,%20vinegars%20and%203%20Scallion%20Dipping%20Sauces,%20we%20commented%20on%20the%20lovely%20people%20who%20had%20crossed%20our%20path%20this%20wonderful%20day.%20%20I%20don't%20know%20if%20we%20will%20ever%20see%20John%20or%20Hilary%20again,%20but%20the%20little%20things%20they%20did%20on%20this%20delightful%20day%20will%20remain%20with%20us,%20and%20as%20I%20am%20doing%20right%20this%20minute,%20every%20time%20I%20pull%20out%20my%20Danza%20Del%20Sol%20glass,%20I%20will%20smile%20and%20think%20of%20John,%20the%20man%20from%20Temecula%20with%20so%20much%20valuable%20information%20and%20a%20wonderful%20smile.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFarmer's%20Market%20Salad%20with%20Oak%20Mountain%20Roasted%20Garlic%20Oil%20and%20Sweet%20Cherry%20Vinaigrette%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20trip%20to%20our%20local%20Farmer's%20Market%20provided%20a%20treasure%20of%20early%20fall%20(late%20summer?)%20vegetables!%20%20Heirloom%20tomatoes%20so%20red%20they%20don't%20look%20real,%20sweet%20onions%20grown%20in%20local%20fields,%20avocados%20fresh%20from%20the%20tree%20and%20an%20amazing%20red%20lettuce%20mixed%20together%20to%20create%20an%20fantastic%20side%20salad%20topped%20with%20our%20Temecula%20Vinaigrette.%20%20%20These%20amazing%20avocado%20oils%20and/or%20flavored%20vinegars%20are%20available%20on%20the%20Oak%20Mountain%20Web%20Site%20(I%20have%20not%20received%20any%20incentive%20from%20Oak%20Mountain%20or%20any%20of%20the%20wineries%20in%20this%20post,%20my%20opinions%20are%20just%20that,%20my%20opinions!).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhisk%20oil,%20vinegar,%20mustard%20and%20garlic%20together%20in%20small%20bowl%20and%20season%20with%20salt%20and%20pepper%20to%20taste.%20%20Set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETear%20the%20lettuce%20into%20a%20large%20bowl%20and%20layer%20with%20tomatoes,%20onions,%20avocado%20and%20any%20other%20of%20your%20favorite%20salad%20ingredients.%20%20Pour%20desired%20amount%20of%20the%20dressing%20over%20the%20salad%20ingredients%20and%20toss%20lightly%20to%20coat.%20%20Top%20with%20a%20sprinkle%20of%20peppitas%20and%20your%20favorite%20cheese,%20crumbled%20feta%20or%20gorgonzola%20and%20serve.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
