Texas Sheetcake for a Large Group

Nice one-layer cake that will feed 20 or more. Make the cake from scratch, but use canned frosting.

Ingredientes

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 cup soft butter
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • canned chocolate frosting
  • Or:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • oz. (one box) powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Direcciones

  1. Heat oven to 350 F.
  2. Cream the butter with the sugar, beat in the eggs.
  3. Add the other ingredients.
  4. Grease and flour the baking pan.
  5. Pour in batter.
  6. Bake 20 minutes, beging checking for doneness.
  7. While cake is still warm, spread on icing.
