%20I%20didn't%20get%20past%20page%209%20before%20finding%20something%20I%20had%20to%20cook,%20and%20had%20to%20cook%20NOW.%20These%20would%20be%20perfect%20for%20an%20appetizer%20or%20a%20main%20dish.%20Let%20me%20say%20they%20still%20turned%20out%20great%20even%20though%20I%20had%20to%20digress%20from%20said%20page%209%20a%20little%20bit.(See%20notes%20in%20recipe).%20I%20also%20want%20to%20state%20this%20disclaimer:%20In%20no%20way%20do%20I%20think%20the%20problems%20I%20had%20were%20due%20to%20the%20recipe%20itself.%20I%20am%20100%25%20convinced%20it%20was%20totally%20the%20fault%20of%20the%20cook%20(yeah,%20that%20would%20be%20me).%20Why?%20Because%20I%20misread%20the%20recipe!%20Oops!!%20But%20when%20you%20are%20supposed%20to%20end%20up%20w/%20a%20mixture%20that%20%22resembles%20coarse%20corn%20meal%22%20(again,%20see%20recipe)%20and%20in%20my%20bowl%20I%20have%20something%20that%20resembles%20evil%20playdough,%20you%20have%20to%20face%20the%20fact%20you%20went%20wrong%20somewhere%20along%20the%20way.%20Well,%20after%20re-reading%20the%20recipe%20when%20it%20was%20time%20to%20type%20this%20up,%20I%20discovered%20my%20mistake%20and%20literally%20laughed%20out%20loud%20at%20myself.%20Guess%20you%20can't%20expect%20good%20results%20when%20you%20don't%20read%20correctly%20:-)%20So%20next%20time,%20I%20will%20remember%20this%20and%20I'm%20sure%20it%20will%20turn%20out%20fine.%20%20And%20just%20in%20case%20you%20find%20yourself%20in%20the%20same%20%22pickle%22%20as%20me,%20remember%20I've%20provided%20an%20alternative!%20Cooking%20is%20a%20science,%20and%20science%20is%20all%20about%20experimentation.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20the%20Dressing:%20Combine%20all%20of%20the%20ingredients%20in%20a%20food%20processor%20and%20blend%20until%20smooth,%20about%2030%20seconds,%20scraping%20sown%20the%20sides%20of%20the%20bowl%20as%20necessary.%20(This%20can%20be%20refrigerated%20in%20an%20airtight%20container%20for%20up%20to%201%20week.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20the%20Chicken:%20Combine%20the%20chicken,%20buttermilk%20and%20salt%20in%20a%20large%20storage%20bag%20and%20refrigerate%2030%20minutes%20up%20to%202%20hours.%20Combine%20the%20hot%20sauce,%20water,%20sugar,%20butter%20and%202%20tsp%20cornstarch%20in%20a%20saucepan.%20Whisk%20over%20medium%20heat%20until%20thickened,%20about%205%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhisk%20the%20egg%20whites%20in%20a%20shallow%20dish%20until%20foamy.%20Stir%20the%20flour,%20baking%20soda,%201%201/2%20c.%20cornstarch%20and%206%20TBS%20of%20hot%20sauce%20mixture%20in%20a%20second%20shallow%20dish%20until%20the%20mixture%20resembles%20coarse%20cornmeal.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*%20This%20is%20where%20my%20recipe%20went%20wrong.%20I%20totally%20missed%20the%20%22second%20dish%22%20part%20and%20combined%20all%20of%20these%20and%20ended%20up%20w/%20dough.*%20:-)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove%20the%20chicken%20from%20the%20marinade%20and%20pat%20dry%20w/%20paper%20towels.%20Toss%20half%20the%20chicken%20w/%20the%20egg%20whites%20until%20well%20coated,%20then%20dredge%20the%20chicken%20in%20the%20cornstarch%20mixture,%20pressing%20to%20adhere.%20Transfer%20to%20a%20plate%20and%20repeat%20w/%20remaining%20chicken.%20Heat%20the%20oil%20to%20350%20(I%20used%20my%20electric%20skillet).%20Fry%20half%20the%20chicken%20until%20golden%20brown,%20about%204%20minutes,%20turning%20each%20piece%20half%20way%20through.%20Transfer%20the%20chicken%20to%20a%20paper%20towel%20lined%20plate%20to%20drain.%20Return%20oil%20to%20350%20and%20fry%20remaining%20chicken.%20(To%20keep%20warm,%20the%20cooked%20chicken%20can%20be%20kept%20in%20a%20200%20oven%20for%2030%20minutes).%20Warm%20the%20remaining%20sauce%20over%20medium-low%20heat%20until%20simmering.%20In%20a%20large%20bowl%20place%20cooked%20chicken%20and%20sauce%20mixture.%20Toss%20to%20coat.%20Serve%20w/%20blue%20cheese%20dressing.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*What%20I%20Did*%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAt%20the%20point%20I%20had%20dough%20instead%20of%20a%20dredging%20mix,%20I%20was%20also%20out%20of%20cornstarch.%20So,%20I%20took%20the%20chicken%20out%20of%20the%20marinade%20and%20patted%20dry.%20I%20then%20dredged%20in%20flour%20only%20and%20fried%20according%20to%20recipe.%20I%20then%20followed%20rest%20of%20recipe%20for%20coating%20w/%20sauce.%20That's%20it.%20Pretty%20simple....thank%20goodness!!%20Lol%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
