%20Other%20times,%20the%20idea%20just%20turns%20into%20a%20Hungry%20Jenny%20Faux%20Pas%20that%20does%20not%20warrant%20a%20recipe,%20or%20just%20goes%20plain%20wrong.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20one%20presented%20a%20slightly%20different%20issue%20however.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20can't%20seem%20to%20give%20this%20one%20a%20proper%20name!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%22I%20just%20want%20to%20be%20loved,%20and%20eaten...%22%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOatmeal%20is%20one%20of%20my%20favourite%20ingredients%20to%20bake%20with%20and%20I%20wanted%20to%20make%20a%20cake%20that%20would%20taste%20really...well,%20oaty.%20So%20in%20short,%20I%20wanted%20to%20make%20a%20soft%20flapjack%20in%20the%20shape%20of%20a%20cake.%20The%20problem%20with%20this%20though%20is%20that%20I%20can't%20call%20it%20a%20flapjack%20-%20because%20I%20don't%20want%20it%20to%20sound%20like%20a%20pancake%20to%20those%20who%20read%20this%20from%20the%20other%20side%20of%20the%20pond.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20the%20past,%20when%20I've%20made%20'British-style'%20flapjacks,%20I've%20got%20around%20the%20name%20game%20by%20calling%20them%20oat%20bars.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EClearly%20this%20one%20is%20not%20a%20bar.%20But%20I%20can't%20just%20call%20it%20an%20oat%20'cake'%20either,%20because%20that's%20something%20else%20as%20well!%20I%20wondered%20whether%20oat%20'slices'%20could%20work,%20seeing%20as%20you%20cut%20a%20cake%20into%20slices%20-%20but%20putting%20it%20together%20with%20'oat'%20still%20somehow%20makes%20it%20sound%20like%20a%20bar.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20could%20have%20perhaps%20called%20it%20a%20granola%20cake%20-%20but%20the%20only%20granola%20ingredient%20it%20contains%20is%20the%20oats%20really.%20This%20has%20apple%20chunks,%20banana%20and%20peanut%20butter%20so%20is%20not%20exactly%20granolafied.%20It%20is%20also%20bound%20together%20with%20olive%20oil%20rather%20than%20syrup%20or%20honey.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20what%20name%20did%20I%20end%20up%20with?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEr,%20Apple%20and%20Peanut%20Butter%20Oat%20Triangles...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHm.%20Suffice%20to%20say,%20this%20is%20a%20temporary%20name%20until%20I%20can%20figure%20out%20a%20better%20one.%20Any%20better%20ideas%20welcome!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1)%20Preheat%20the%20oven%20to%20180%20degrees%20C.%20Mix%20the%20oats%20with%20the%20sifted%20flour%20and%20sugar%20in%20a%20large%20bowl.%20Fold%20in%20the%20cubed%20apple.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2)%20In%20another%20bowl,%20mash%20the%20banana%20with%20the%20peanut%20butter%20and%20oil.%20Tip%20into%20the%20oat%20mixture%20and%20fold%20in%20well.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3)%20Transfer%20to%20a%20lined%20round%20tin,%20then%20bake%20for%20about%2025-30%20minutes%20until%20golden%20and%20set.%20Allow%20to%20cool%20before%20cutting%20into%208-10%20triangles.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOther%20butter%20free%20baking%20recipes%20that%20might%20take%20your%20fancy.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
