%20has%20been%20compared%20to%20it-none%20have%20come%20close.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eanyone%20that%20knows%20me,%20knows%20of%20my%20love%20for%20mussels.%20%20these%20were%20simmered%20in%20a%20cider%20and%20bacon%20broth.%20%20i%20ate%20each%20and%20every%20one%20and%20used%20all%20of%20the%20bread%20available%20to%20soak%20up%20the%20broth.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ei%20think%20i%20will%20like%20living%20so%20close%20to%20the%20bay%20and%20the%20ocean,%20especially%20if%20it%20means%20these%20will%20be%20fresh%20and%20readily%20available.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethe%20pub%20has%20quite%20the%20selection%20of%20beer%20on%20tap%20but%20none%20is%20as%20unique%20as%20the%20%E2%80%9Creal%20ale%E2%80%9D%20which%20the%20bartender%20was%20kind%20enough%20to%20explain.%20%20the%20brewing%20process%20uses%20traditional%20ingredients%20but%20also%20includes%20a%20second%20fermentation%20process%20in%20the%20container.%20%20the%20ale%20is%20only%20served%20from%20a%20special%20tap%20on%20the%20bar%20and%20this%20tap%20does%20not%20use%20the%20additional%20carbon%20dioxide%20or%20pass%20it%20over%20cold%20plates%20like%20beer%20served%20from%20a%20standard%20tap.%20%20the%20result%20is%20that%20the%20ale%20is%20a%20little%20less%20carbonated,%20a%20little%20less%20cold%20and%20it%20likely%20will%20have%20a%20trace%20of%20sediment%20from%20the%20fermentation%20process%20in%20it.%20%20the%20real%20ale%20available%20on%20our%20visit%20was%20a%20legend%20brown%20ale%20and%20it%20had%20a%20nice%20deep%20amber%20color%20and%20a%20smooth%20flavor%20with%20absolutely%20no%20bitterness-%20a%20good%20thing%20since%20i%20am%20not%20a%20beer%20drinker%20(as%20if%20that%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20obvious%20already)%20but%20if%20i%20had%20to,%20i%20could%20have%20easily%20consumed%20a%2010%20ounce%20imperial%20half%20pint.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethe%20two%20beers,%20side%20by%20side,%20the%20real%20ale%20on%20the%20left%20and%20the%20pale%20ale%20on%20the%20right.%20%20it%20was%20an%20enjoyable%20way%20to%20start%20the%20evening,%20we%20look%20forward%20to%20being%20able%20to%20do%20this%20again%20especially%20as%20the%20seasons%20progress.%20%20the%20chance%20to%20see%20the%20colonial%20village%20during%20the%20different%20seasons%20is%20something%20i%20am%20looking%20forward%20to.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Emany%20thanks%20to%20the%20bartenders%20on%20duty%20during%20our%20visit,%20they%20gave%20us%20great%20service%20and%20answered%20all%20of%20our%20questions-even%20those%20about%20where%20they%20lived;%20well,%20we%20are%20trying%20to%20find%20a%20place%20to%20live%E2%80%A6to%20see%20the%20menu,%20and%20the%20beer%20list%20check%20out%20the%20website.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eand%20one%20more%20thing,%20we%20were%20not%20compensated%20in%20any%20way%20for%20this,%20we%20paid%20for%20our%20drinks%20and%20food%20ourselves!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELike%20Loading...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERelated%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
