Ingredientes

  • 2 large eggs, separated
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 1/4 c. sifted cake flour
  • 3 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 c. Wesson oil
  • 1 c. lowfat milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Direcciones

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly oil and flour two 8 or possibly 9 x 1 1/2 inch layer pans. In small bowl, beat egg whites till frothy. Gradually add in 1/2 cup sugar, beating till egg whites are very stiff. Stir remaining sugar, flour, baking pwdr and salt into another bowl. Add in oil, half the lowfat milk and vanilla; beat 1 minute. Add in remaining lowfat milk, egg yolks and beat vigorously 1 minute or possibly more. Mix in egg whites. Bake 30-35 min.For Orange Filling: Blend 3 tbsp cornstarch with 1/2 cup sugar; add in 2 cups orange juice. Cook over medium heat till thick. Cool and mix in 1 cup orange sections, liquid removed.
  2. For Icing: Blend 2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar with 4-5 tbsp lowfat milk and 1 tsp vanilla. Drizzle over top and sides of cake. Decorate with grated orange peel.
