.%20With%20relatively%20few%20exceptions,%20I%20tend%20to%20eschew%20drinks%20made%20with%20simple%20syrup%20-%20so%20in%20this%20case%20I've%20chosen%20to%20use%20agave%20nectar%20instead.%20If%20you%20prefer%20to%20go%20the%20traditional%20route%20-%20use%201%20ounce%20of%20simple%20syrup%20in%20place%20of%20the%20agave.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20brief%20note%20about%20the%20bitters:%20The%20mixology%20world%20was%20rocked%20earlier%20this%20month%20by%20the%20revelation%20that%20we%20were%20in%20the%20midst%20of%20an%20Agostura%20Bitters%20shortage.%20Seems%20there%20was%20some%20kind%20of%20dispute%20between%20the%20House%20of%20Angostura%20and%20the%20manufacturer%20of%20the%20bottles.%20Long%20story%20short,%20Angostura%20has%20been%20hard%20to%20find.%20This%20is%20bad%20news%20for%20all%20of%20us%20and%20really%20bad%20news%20for%20the%20husband%20...%20he%20puts%20them%20in%20everything!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFinding%20ourselves%20down%20to%20the%20last%20drops%20of%20bitters,%20Chez%20Diva,%20the%20shortage%20was%20a%20crisis%20indeed.%20It%20was%20all%20we%20could%20talk%20about%20for%20days.%20I%20quickly%20donned%20my%20thinking%20tiara%20and%20proffered%20a%20suggestion%20-%20a%20little%20out%20of%20the%20way%20wine%20shop%20in%20CT.%20We%20stopped%20in%20last%20weekend%20and%20happened%20upon%20a%20whole%20stash%20of%20the%20stuff.%20Needless%20to%20say,%20we%20bought%20the%20large%20bottle%20and%20are%20now%20back%20in%20business!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20those%20without%20a%20ready%20supply%20of%20Angostura,%20fear%20not,%20the%20shortage%20is%20expected%20to%20end%20next%20month.%20A%20new%20manufacturer%20has%20been%20secured%20and%20the%20people%20will%20have%20their%20bitters.%20And,%20really,%20the%20people%20can%20have%20their%20bitters%20regardless.%20Both%20Fee%20Brothers%20and%20The%20Bitter%20Truth%20market%20an%20aromatic%20bitters.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDuring%20the%20height%20of%20the%20crisis,%20I%20purchased%20a%20bottle%20of%20The%20Bitter%20Truth's%20Old%20Time%20Aromatic%20Bitters%20and%20its%20really%20quite%20good.%20A%20bit%20strong%20on%20the%20licorice%20notes,%20but%20delicious%20all%20the%20same.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFine,%20fine,%20Diva,%20but%20what%20about%20the%20Loch%20Lomond?!%20How%20does%20it%20taste?%20Honestly,%20its%20delicious.%20The%20agave%20serves%20to%20mellow%20the%20scotch%20and%20the%20bitters%20pair%20beautifully%20with%20it.%20This%20is%20smart%20little%20sipper%20that%20would%20be%20perfect%20as%20an%20after%20dinner%20drink.%20I%20hope%20you'll%20try%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECheers!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
