  1. Cook 3/4 lb. of dry apples. When all the water has cooked out, add in 3 Tbsp. of sugar and mix well. Cook and stir leaving no water. Cold, spread on the bottom of an unbaked pie shell. Smooth level, leaving no holes for the custard to leak through. Add in the above custard mix. Cook on 300 degrees till the custard is done.
  2. Add in one Tbsp. of hot water to the two egg whites. Beat the egg whites till stiff. Add in two Tbsp. of sugar; mix; spread over the custard and brown. This has been handed down in the McCulley family for generations.
