Ingredientes

  • 1 lb grnd beef
  • 1/3 c. onion, minced
  • 1/3 c. celery, minced
  • 2 x garlic cloves, chopped
  • 14 slc French bread, (1/2 inch thick)
  • 4 lrg tomatoes, sliced 1/2 inch thick
  • 1 tsp dry basil
  • 1 tsp dry parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp dry oregano
  • 1 tsp dry rosemary, crushed
  • 1 tsp garlic pwdr
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil or possibly vegetable oil divided
  • 3 Tbsp. butter or possibly margarine
  • 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 c. lowfat milk
  • 1/3 c. parmesan cheese, grated
  • 8 ounce mozzarella cheese, shredded (2 c.)

Direcciones

  1. In a skillet, brown beef, onion, celery and garlic; drain and set aside.
  2. Toast bread; line the bottom of an ungreased 13x9x2-inch baking dish with 10 slices. Top with half of the meat mix and half of the tomatoes. Combine seasonings; sprinkle half over tomatoes. Drizzle with 1 tsp oil. Crumble remaining bread over top. Repeat layers of meat, tomatoes and seasonings and oil.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, heat the butter; stir in flour till smooth.
  4. Gradually stir in lowfat milk; bring to boil. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly, about 2 min. Remove from heat; stir in Parmesan. Pour over casserole. Top with mozzarella. Bake, uncovered, at 350F for 40-45 min or possibly till bubbly and cheese is golden.
