%20tapenade%20and%20vegan%20cheese,%20for%20us.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20we%20waited%20for%20our%20pizzetta,%20we%20were%20served%20a%20highly%20artistic%20beet%20dish,%20compliments%20of%20the%20house,%20that%20was%20incredibly%20tasty,%20albeit%20a%20bit%20too%20precious%20for%20my%20taste.%20The%20cubes%20of%20gold%20and%20red%20beet%20with%20flowers,%20beet%20chips%20and%20a%20rhubarb%20relish%20made%20for%20tasty%20bites%20but%20just%20bites%20they%20were.%20It%20may%20have%20been%20an%20amuse%20bouche%20but%20wasn't%20presented%20as%20such.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20then%20our%20pizzetta%20arrived.%20It%20was%20perfectly%20cooked%20and%20the%20flavors%20were%20bright,%20with%20the%20borage%20topping%20made%20from%20local%20Sevillano%20olives%20a%20perfect%20foil%20for%20the%20perfectly%20cooked%20crust.%20The%20vegan%20cheese%20was%20a%20did%20not%20distract%20from,%20or%20overwhelm,%20the%20wonderful%20flavors%20of%20the%20fresh%20summer%20vegetables.%20It%20is%20just%20how%20I%20like%20my%20pizza,%20crisp%20crust,%20light%20topping%20and%20vegetables%20plus%20herbs.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20end%20of%20the%20meal%20was%20as%20much%20a%20highlight%20as%20the%20beginning.%20I%20believe%20that%20the%20dessert%20that%20we%20had%20was%20called%20a%20%22creamsicle%22%20but%20it's%20not%20like%20any%20that%20I've%20ever%20had.%20I%20never%20cared%20for%20creamsicles%20so%20was%20reluctant%20to%20order%20this%20one.%20But%20I%20am%20glad%20that%20we%20did.%20My%20description%20(no%20photo,%20sorry,%20my%20camera%20battery%20died%20and%20Fran%20shot%20photos.%20It%20was%20too%20dark%20by%20dessert.)%20will%20not%20do%20it%20justice.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOn%20the%20bottom%20of%20the%20glass%20were%20beet%20tapioca%20pearls,%20with%20an%20intense%20red%20color.%20They%20were%20topped%20with%20orange%20sorbet.%20Mineral%20(or%20other%20fizzy)%20water%20was%20poured%20over%20those%202%20elements,%20creating%20a%20textured,%20cold,%20creamy%20and%20spritzy%20dessert.%20You%20have%20to%20experience%20it%20to%20get%20what%20it's%20all%20about.%20I%20can%20just%20say,%20that%20as%20a%20mostly%20non-citified%20woman%20at%20this%20point,%20I%20don't%20often%20order%20$9,%20non-baked%20desserts,%20but%20I'd%20get%20this%20one%20again.%20It%20was%20light%20and%20delicious%20and%20thank%20goodness,%20it's%20nothing%20like%20a%20%22creamsicle%22%20except%20for%20the%20orange%20flavor.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20food%20and%20atmosphere%20of%20Ubuntu%20are%20top%20notch%20although%20the%20service%20left%20me%20flat,%20despite%20our%20perfectly%20sweet%20waiter,%20named%20Jeremy,%20same%20as%20the%20chef,%20who%20has%20a%20lot%20to%20learn%20about%20ingredients%20and%20wine.%20Total%20tab,%20without%20tip,%20for%202%20tastes%20of%20wine%20plus%20a%20glass,%20one%20salad,%20pizza%20and%20dessert%20was%20$60,%20which%20may%20fly%20in%20Napa%20or%20NYC%20but%20it's%20a%20bit%20rich%20for%20my%20Sonoma%20County%20blood.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20will%20be%20going%20back%20and%20we'll%20see%20what%20kind%20of%20vegetable%20treats%20and%20tricks%20Chef%20Jeremy%20Fox%20has%20up%20his%20sleeve%20in%20the%20deep%20of%20summer,%20with%20all%20manner%20of%20vegetables%20at%20his%20disposal.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you're%20going%20to%20be%20in%20Napa%20be%20sure%20to%20make%20reservations%20and%20check%20out%20their%20vegetable-inspired%20cuisine.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUbuntu%20also%20has%20a%20yoga%20studio%20upstairs.%20I%20think%20that%20a%20perfect%20day%20for%20me%20would%20be%20staying%20at%20the%20eco-friendly%20Gaia%20Hotel%20and%20Spa%20in%20American%20Canyon,%20taking%20a%20yoga%20class%20and%20eating%20lunch%20at%20Ubuntu,%20and%20sometime%20later%20getting%20a%20spa%20treatment.%20Something%20to%20consider.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBTW,%20within%20a%20day%20or%20two,%20the%20hot%20weather%20vanished%20and%20a%20night%20on%20the%20patio%20without%20a%20jacket%20would%20have%20just%20been%20impossibly%20chilly.%20So,%20timing%20is%20indeed%20everything.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
