%20and%20I%20will%20take%20turns%20each%20week%20hosting%20and%20welcome%20all%20of%20you%20as%20we%20look%20forward%20to%20being%20introduced%20to%20some%20new%20blogs%20as%20well%20as%20revisiting%20old%20favorites!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20first%20Weekend%20Blog%20Showcase%20bow%20is%20actually%20to%20someone%20many%20of%20you%20are%20already%20well%20acquainted%20with,%20I'm%20sure!%20%20Monique%20is%20a%20beautiful%20soul%20whose%20talented%20photography,%20beautiful%20posts,%20and%20love%20for%20her%20family%20and%20friends%20is%20brilliantly%20displayed%20on%20her%20blog,%20La%20Table%20De%20Nana.%20It%20is%20always%20a%20joy%20to%20visit%20her%20blog%20everyday,%20a%20calming%20moment%20I%20look%20forward%20to%20each%20morning.%20%20While%20Monique%20has%20many,%20many%20wonderful%20recipes%20to%20choose%20from,%20one%20that%20I%20had%20bookmarked%20for%20several%20months%20now,%20is%20her%20Cauliflower%20Soup%20with%20Spiced%20Pear%20Chips.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMonique%20mentions%20a%20couple%20of%20alterations%20she%20made%20to%20the%20recipe%20at%20the%20end%20of%20her%20post.%20%20I%20had%20a%20whole%20head%20of%20cauliflower%20and%20decided%20to%20go%20ahead%20and%20follow%20the%20recipe%20as%20written.%20%20However,%20one%20little%20tweak%20I%20did%20make%20to%20the%20recipe%20was%20to%20make%20Spiced%20Apple%20Chips%20as%20I%20have%20a%20Lodi%20(I%20think)%20apple%20tree%20in%20my%20backyard,%20currently%20overrun%20with%20ripe%20fruit.%20%20So%20apple%20chips%20it%20was.%20%20Instead%20of%20slicing%20them%20vertically,%20I%20sliced%20them%20horizontally,%20hoping%20to%20get%20a%20glimpse%20of%20the%20little%20'star'%20shape%20in%20the%20middle.%20%20The%20chips%20were%20easy%20to%20slice%20on%20my%20Japanese-style%20plastic%20mandoline,%20and%20their%20spicy%20scent%20was%20heady%20as%20they%20were%20baking.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20soup%20itself%20was%20extremely%20easy%20to%20make%20and%20not%20at%20all%20out%20of%20the%20ordinary...%20until%20just%20before%20serving.%20%20A%20bit%20of%20orange%20zest%20and%20some%20fresh%20orange%20juice%20really%20added%20a%20freshness%20to%20the%20soup%20while%20still%20maintaining%20it's%20'comfort'%20quality.%20%20Delicious!%20%20I'm%20having%20a%20hard%20time%20stopping%20at%20my%20SECOND%20bowlful!%20%20Thank%20you,%20Monique!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECauliflower%20Soup%20with%20Spiced%20Pear%20Chips%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%22Dressed%20up%20with%20a%20touch%20of%20orange%20and%20snappy,%20spiced%20pear%20chips,%20cauliflower%20becomes%20fit%20for%20company%20in%20this%20easy%20soup.%20Make%20it%20a%20day%20or%20two%20ahead%20of%20time%20and%20you%20only%20need%20to%20reheat%20and%20finish%20it%20with%20a%20fresh%20burst%20of%20orange%20just%20before%20serving.%20The%20pear%20chips%20can%20be%20made%20days%20ahead%20of%20time%20and%20stored%20in%20a%20cookie%20tin%20but%20you%20might%20need%20to%20hide%20them%20so%20they%20don%E2%80%99t%20disappear%20before%20it%E2%80%99s%20time%20to%20serve%20the%20soup.%22%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESOUP%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20soup,%20melt%20butter%20over%20medium%20heat%20in%20a%20large%20pot.%20Add%20onion%20and%20saut%C3%A9%20for%20about%205%20minutes%20until%20softened%20but%20not%20browned.%20Add%20garlic,%20bay%20leaf,%201/2%20teaspoon%20(2%20mL)%20salt%20and%201/4%20teaspoon%20(1%20mL)%20pepper%20and%20saut%C3%A9%20for%201%20minute%20or%20until%20garlic%20is%20softened%20and%20fragrant.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20potato,%20stock%20and%20water;%20bring%20to%20a%20boil,%20scraping%20up%20bits%20stuck%20to%20pot.%20Stir%20in%20cauliflower.%20Reduce%20heat%20to%20medium-low,%20cover%20and%20boil%20gently%20for%20about%2015%20minutes%20or%20until%20cauliflower%20and%20potatoes%20are%20soft.%20Remove%20from%20heat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDiscard%20bay%20leaf.%20Using%20an%20immersion%20blender%20in%20pot%20or,%20transferring%20soup%20in%20batches%20to%20an%20upright%20blender,%20pur%C3%A9e%20soup%20until%20very%20smooth.%20Soup%20can%20be%20cooled,%20covered%20and%20refrigerated%20for%20up%20to%202%20days.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20spiced%20pear%20chips,%20preheat%20oven%20to%20275%C2%B0F%20(140%C2%B0%20C).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELine%20a%20large%20baking%20sheet%20with%20parchment%20paper.%20Cut%20pear%20lengthwise%20into%20paper-thin%20slices.%20Combine%20paprika,%20cinnamon,%20salt%20and%20pepper%20to%20taste.%20Lightly%20sprinkle%20over%20both%20sides%20of%20pear%20slices.%20Place%20on%20baking%20sheet%20in%20a%20single%20layer.%20Place%20another%20sheet%20of%20parchment%20paper%20on%20top%20and%20set%20another%20baking%20sheet%20on%20top%20of%20paper%20to%20keep%20pears%20flat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20for%2045%20minutes%20or%20until%20pears%20are%20very%20soft%20and%20starting%20to%20dry%20around%20the%20edges.%20Remove%20top%20baking%20sheet%20and%20carefully%20peel%20off%20top%20piece%20of%20parchment.%20Bake%20for%2015%20to%2030%20minutes%20longer,%20checking%20often,%20until%20pears%20are%20dry%20and%20firm.%20They%20will%20crisp%20more%20upon%20cooling.%20Carefully%20peel%20pears%20from%20p
