%20but%20I%20did%20get%20at%20least%20one%20orange%20Gypsy%20pepper%20out%20of%20the%20bunch.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThese%20Gypsy%20peppers%20were%20good%20frying%20peppers,%20but%20again,%20they%20were%20on%20the%20pungent%20side,%20so%20we%20mostly%20chopped%20them%20up%20for%20the%20freezer%20last%20harvest%20season%20and%20have%20been%20since%20adding%20them%20judiciously%20to%20our%20suppers.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWith%20such%20a%20bounty%20of%20hot%20peppers,%20we%20also%20tried%20our%20hand%20at%20making%20a%20hot%20pepper%20and%20garlic%20paste,%20like%20a%20Thai%20green%20curry%20paste,%20to%20freeze%20and%20this%20proved%20to%20be%20a%20wonderful%20little%20condiment.%20I%20just%20added%20seeded%20and%20rough%20chopped%20Tiburon%20and%20Gypsy%20peppers%20to%20my%20hard-working%20blender,%20and%20then%20added%20in%20a%20handful%20of%20peeled%20fresh%20garlic%20and%20maybe%20a%20couple%20of%20tablespoons%20of%20olive%20oil%20and%20pulverized%20the%20whole%20thing%20until%20it%20was%20a%20light%20green,%20creamy%20consistency.%20A%20little%20salt%20and%20pepper%20and%20then%20I%20froze%20this%20hot%20pepper%20paste%20in%201/2%20cup%20containers%20(as%20a%20little%20goes%20a%20long%20way!).%20%20It's%20a%20little%20watery%20when%20you%20thaw%20it,%20but%20you%20can%20drain%20it%20a%20bit%20before%20adding%20it%20to%20other%20ingredients.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20addition%20to%20using%20this%20hot%20pepper%20condiment%20as%20a%20green%20curry%20base,%20I've%20found%20some%20other%20great%20uses%20for%20it.%20I've%20mixed%20it%20with%20sour%20cream%20for%20quick%20dip%20or%20taco%20side%20sauce%20(fantastic%20with%20fish%20tacos!).%20We%20scarfed%20down%20a%20batch%20of%20fettuccine%20slathered%20with%20some%20of%20this%20pepper%20paste%20mixed%20in%20with%20ricotta%20cheese%20and%20herbs%20and%20I%20have%20plans%20for%20it%20for%20my%20annual%20gazpacho%20frenzy,%20when%20the%20tomatoes%20are%20starting%20to%20come%20in%20but%20the%20peppers%20are%20still%20lagging%20behind.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20anyone%20has%20any%20other%20great%20ideas%20for%20this%20hot%20pepper%20goodness,%20please%20let%20me%20know.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E***I%20also%20wanted%20to%20announce%20the%20winner%20of%20the%20giveaway%20copy%20of%20Denise%20Jardine's%20Dairy-Free%20and%20Gluten-Free%20Kitchen%20cookbook.%20The%20winner%20is%20commenter%20number%2012,%20Betsy.%20Congratulations%20Betsy!%20And%20thank%20you%20to%20Ten%20Speed%20Press%20for%20furnishing%20the%20giveaway%20copy%20of%20this%20cookbook.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
