.%20%20I%20keep%20being%20pleasantly%20surprised,%20a%20perk%20of%20the%20Monday%20off.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20was%20a%20strange%20week%20for%20me%20in%20terms%20of%20hunger;%20y%E2%80%99all%20know%20that%20I%20usually%20eat%20enough%20food%20to%20sustain%20a%20small%20village,%20but%20thanks%20to%20a%20migraine%20and%20a%20day%20of%20leftover%20migraine%20ickiness%20my%20hunger%20has%20been%20on%20hiatus.%20%20Thanks%20to%20less%20food%20eaten,%20and%20less%20time%20since%20my%20last%20post,%20I%20actually%20have%20photos%20of%2095%25%20of%20my%20eats!%20%20All%20you%E2%80%99re%20really%20missing%20is%20several%20more%20iced%20coffees%20with%20skim%20milk%20and%20nibbles%20while%20I%20cooked%20the%20dinners.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOff%20we%20go%E2%80%A6%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20am%20obsessed%20with%20Brooklyn%20Roasting%20Company%20and%20Adam%20sweetly%20surprised%20me%20with%20a%20tin%20of%20their%20Iris%20Espresso%20%7Bmaple%20/%20sugar-plum%20/%20cocoa%20/%20spice%7D%20this%20weekend.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20was%20so%20excited%20about%20it%20that%20I%20woke%20up%20early%20enough%20on%20Tuesday%20to%20brew%20and%20drink%20a%20cup%20of%20coffee%20before%20leaving%20for%20work!%20%20This%20blend%20is%20legit,%20even%20from%20our%20crappy%20coffee%20maker%20this%20was%20my%20favorite%20cup%20of%20BRC%20yet.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEven%20leftover%20the%20next%20day,%20with%20unsweetened%20vanilla%20almond%20milk%20and%20SCM,%20it%20was%20delicious.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECafeteria%20lunch.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESweet%20onion%20kettle%20chips%20and%20a%20cup%20of%20buffalo%20blue%20cheese%20soup%20from%20the%20cafeteria.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDo%20you%20remember%20the%20cup%20of%20amazing%20bbq%20sauce%20that%20Fletcher%E2%80%99s%20sent%20me%20home%20with?%20%20We%20used%20it%20in%20amazing%20sandwiches.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20was%20the%20best%20meal%20of%20the%20week.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20doused%20some%20chopped%20roasted%20chicken%20in%20our%20sauce,%20then%20served%20it%20on%20onion%20buns%20with%20a%20schmear%20of%20Miracle%20Whip.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20veggie%20component%20was%20baby%20bok%20choy,%20mushrooms,%20and%20shredded%20carrot,%20cooked%20with%20evoo,%20fish%20sauce,%20rice%20vinegar,%20and%20hot%20pepper%20jam,%20with%20sesame%20seeds%20and%20fried%20shallots%20tossed%20in%20at%20the%20end.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20don%E2%80%99t%20cook%20bok%20choy%20enough,%20it%E2%80%99s%20one%20of%20my%20favorites.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYogurt%20lunch.%20%20I%20stirred%20together%20fresh%20blueberries,%20a%20mix%20of%20Nature%E2%80%99s%20Path%20Heritage%20Flakes%20and%20Quaker%20Brown%20Sugar%20Oatmeal%20Squares,%20and%20a%20pineapple%20Chobani.%20%20Plus%20an%20apple%20on%20the%20side.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20didn%E2%80%99t%20think%20to%20check%20the%20label%20before%20I%20bought%20it,%20but%20apparently%20the%20new%20100%20calorie%20Chobani%20line%20is%20sweetened%20with%20stevia%20and%20monk%20fruit?!%20%20Yuck.%20%20I%20hate%20the%20taste%20of%20stevia,%20but%20realized%20it%20was%20in%20there%20too%20late%20after%20everything%20was%20stirred%20together.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20had%20big%20plans%20for%20Wednesday%E2%80%99s%20dinner%20%E2%80%93%20I%20was%20going%20to%20make%20two%20sets%20of%20meals%20so%20I%20was%20prepped%20for%20the%20rest%20of%20the%20week%20%E2%80%93%20but%20instead%20I%20rolled%20around%20with%20a%20migraine.%20%20When%20I%20finally%20was%20ready%20to%20eat%20it%20was%20after%2010%20pm,%20so%20I%20just%20made%20a%20sandwich.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%E2%80%99m%20not%20really%20complaining%20though,%20at%20least%20it%20was%20an%20exciting%20sandwich.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFrench%20toast%20bagel%20topped%20with%202%20slices%20of%20Applegate%20Farms%20smoked%20turkey,%20an%20egg,%20and%201%20oz%20of%20Brie.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOatmeal%20lunch.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBlueberry%20hazelnut%20oatmeal%20from%20Quaker%20topped%20Justin%E2%80%99s%20chocolate%20hazelnut%20butter%20to%20continue%20the%20theme.%20%20Plus%20an%20Ambrosia%20apple%20that%20was%20sweet%20and%20juicy.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDipping%20snack.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBaby%20carrots%20with%20Sabra%20olive%20tapenade%20hummus.%20%20I%20liked%20the%20blend%20of%20two%20of%20my%20favorite%20Mediterranean%20flavors.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERidiculous%20cookies.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdam%20and%20I%20aren%E2%80%99t%20quite%20sure%20what%20to%20think%20of%20them.%20%20150%20calories%20for%202%20cookies%20is%20pretty%20horrifying%20when%20you%20realize%20the%20cookies%20are%20practically%20silver%20dollar%20sized.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELast%20night%20I%20made%20the%20easier%20of%20Wednesday%E2%80%99s%20planned%20meals.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Za%E2%80%99atar%20veggie%20burgers%20were%20part%20of%20my%20box%20from%20Sweet%20Earth%20Foods.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlease%20note%20%E2%80%93%20this%20item%20was%20sent%20to%20me%20free%20of%20charge%20to%20review.%20%20I%20was%20not%20provided%20with%20further%20compensation%20for%20this%20post.%20%20All%20opinions%20are%20my%20own.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20burgers%20were%20nowhere%20near%20as%20good%20as%20the%20terrific%20bacon,%20but%20they%20weren%E2%80%99t%20bad.%20%20Sadly%20the%20flavor%20was%20fairly%20%E2%80%9CBland,%20now%20with%20spices.%E2%80%9D%20%20But%20I%20liked%20the%20textural%20aspect%20of%20the%20flax%20seeds.%20%20And%20they%20cooked%20up%20very%20quickly,%20making%20them%20an%20easy%20230%20calorie,%206%20grams%20of%20fiber,%2018%20grams%20of%20protein%20vegan%20option.%20%20I%20went%20back%20and%20topped%20mine%20with%20mustard.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOn%20the%20side%20was%20TJ%E2%80%99s%20Cruciferous%20Crunch%20Collection%20%E2%80%93%20kale,%20Brussels%20sprouts,%20broccoli,%20and%20green%20and%20red%20cabbage%20%E2%80%93%20saut%C3%A9ed%20with%20champagne%20pear%20vinaigrette,%20chopped%20pecans,%20and%20dried%20blueberries.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20forgot%20our%20fresh%20corn%20on%20the%20cob%20in%20the%20fridge,%20but%20we%20didn%E2%80%99t%20even%20miss%20it%20once%20we%20tasted%20how%20good%20the%20vegetables%20were.%20%20I%20highly%20recommend%20adding%20dried%20blueberries%20the%20next%20time%20you%20saut%C3%A9%20greens.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFYI%20%E2%80%93%20I%20wrote%20a%20guest%20post%20on%20prenatal%20nutrition%20on%20Kath%20Eats.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELike%20Loading...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERelated%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
