%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethose%20who%20know%20me%20and%20my%20food%20tastes%20know%20that%20i'm%20not%20so%20much%20of%20a%20stew%20person.%20so%20when%20a%20csa%20recipe%20popped%20up%20on%20my%20google%20reader%20that%20looked%20delicious%20and%20just%20happened%20to%20be%20a%20stew,%20i%20decided%20that%20i%20had%20to%20go%20for%20it.%20it%20also%20seemed%20like%20the%20perfect%20use%20for%20my%20giant%20bunch%20of%20broccoli%20rabe%20from%20csa.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Emy%20first%20instinct%20was%20that%20the%20recipe%20didn't%20have%20quite%20enough%20garlic,%20shallots%20and/or%20other%20flavor%20kickers.%20i%20almost%20wish%20i%20had%20supplemented%20but%20after%20a%20couple%20of%20days%20the%20stew%20developed%20more%20of%20its%20own%20flavor%20(as%20stews%20often%20do,%20i'm%20told).%20so%20here's%20to%20my%20first%20ever%20stew!%20next%20time,%20i%20still%20would%20sautee%20the%20greens%20with%20garlic%20before%20adding%20them...and%20might%20use%20chicken%20stock%20instead%20of%20the%20veggie%20stock.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecook%20sausage%20in%20a%20large%20pot%20until%20browned,%20then%20remove%20sausage%20with%20a%20slotted%20spoon,%20leaving%20fat%20in%20pot,%20and%20set%20sausage%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecook%20onion%20in%20the%20sausage%20fat%20until%20translucent.%20add%20sliced%20carrots%20and%20broccoli%20rabe%20stems,%20and%20cook%20briefly,%20about%202%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eadd%20lentils%20and%202%20cups%20vegetable%20broth,%20cover%20and%20lower%20heat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Esimmer%20for%20about%2015-20%20minutes,%20until%20lentils%20and%20carrots%20are%20tender%20(add%20more%20vegetable%20broth%20if%20needed),%20then%20add%20sausage%20and%20the%20broccoli%20rabe%20leaves.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecover%20and%20simmer%20about%205%20minutes,%20or%20until%20leaves%20are%20wilted.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eseason%20with%20salt%20and%20pepper%20to%20taste.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
