%20that%20we%20actually%20saw%20a%20forest%20fire%20on%20the%20mountain!!!%20I%20can't%20believe%20that%20this%20is%20going%20to%20be%20the%20site%20of%20the%202010%20Winter%20Olympic%20Games!%20Hopefully%20there'll%20be%20more%20cool%20weather%20and%20some%20real%20snow%20by%20the%20time%20the%20games%20roll%20around.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20anyways,%20after%20coming%20back%20from%20the%20Whistler%20trip%20with%20my%20friends,%20I%20decided%20to%20treat%20my%20family%20to%20a%20recipe%20that%20we%20hadn't%20enjoyed%20in%20a%20long%20time.%20Something%20simple,%20easy%20and%20refreshing%20to%20help%20us%20cope%20with%20the%20unbearable%20heat.%20Ais%20Kacang!!%20YEAY!%20My%20sisters%20simply%20love%20this%20dessert,%20the%20shaved%20ice%20and%20evaporated%20milk,%20ice%20cream%20and%20other%20various%20ingredients.%20My%20youngest%20sister%20really%20loves%20grinding%20the%20shaver%20and%20watching%20the%20little%20snow-like%20pieces%20of%20ice%20drop%20from%20the%20machine...%20soo%20cute!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20also%20made%20some%20cendol%20because%20I%20love%20the%20pandan%20flavor,%20and%20it%20tastes%20so%20good%20with%20the%20coconut%20milk%20and%20shaved%20ice!!%20It%20reminds%20me%20of%20being%20in%20Singapore!%20AAHHH!!%20I%20really%20want%20to%20go%20back%20sometime%20soon.%20The%20recipe%20for%20Cendol%20I%20used%20can%20be%20found%20at%20Rose's%20Kitchen.%20The%20only%20alterations%20I%20made%20to%20this%20recipe%20were%20to%20add%20about%201/4-1/3%20cup%20of%20rice%20flour%20to%20the%20mix,%20in%20order%20to%20make%20a%20firmer%20and%20more%20chewy%20cendol.%20I%20know%20they%20look%20like%20greenish-turds%20but%20they%20are%20seriously%20delicious!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20ingredients%20we%20used%20for%20our%20Ais%20Kacang%20were:%20shaved%20ice,%20coconut%20milk,%20evaporated%20milk,%20gula%20melaka%20syrup,%20cendol,%20halo-halo,%20jackfruit,%20sweetened%20red%20beans,%20vanilla%20ice%20cream,%20and%20creamed%20corn!!%20It%20would%20have%20been%20nice%20to%20have%20some%20grass-jelly%20or%20durian%20to%20add%20in,%20but%20all-in-all%20it%20was%20a%20great%20way%20to%20beat%20the%20summer%20heat,%20and%20a%20lot%20of%20fun%20to%20design%20our%20own%20personal%20desserts...%20we%20must%20do%20it%20again%20soon!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
