,%20but%20I%20am%20a%20purist%20when%20it%20comes%20to%20my%20ingredients.%20%20So%20I%20thought%20about%20using%20it%20in%20bread%20pudding%20with%20Guinness.%20%20But%20I%20am%20really%20stuck%20on%20the%20Irish%20Whiskey%20Bread%20Pudding%20I%20usually%20make.....%20%20I%20mean,%20why%20drink%20beer%20when%20you%20can%20have%20whiskey,%20right?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen,%20since%20I%20was%20cooking%20all%20sorts%20of%20German%20food%20this%20last%20week,%20it%20suddenly%20hit%20me.%20%20Fondue!%20%20Soda%20Bread%20would%20make%20excellent%20dipping%20fodder.%20%20Hmmmmmmm%20%20Would%20Guinness%20make%20an%20decent%20base%20for%20a%20nice%20Cheddary%20fondue?%20%20You%20bet%20your%20shamrocks%20it%20does...%20%20Use%20a%20nice%20Irish%20cheese%20(I%20chose%20Kerry%20Gold%20Dubliner)%20and%20you%20are%20all%20set%20for%20a%20Swiss%20classic%20with%20a%20seriously%20Irish%20twist.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20all,%20aren't%20we%20ALL%20a%20little%20bit%20Irish%20on%20St.%20Patrick's%20Day?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGuinness%20Fondue%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECube%20the%20Irish%20Soda%20Bread%20and%20lay%20it%20out%20on%20a%20baking%20sheet%20and%20spray%20with%20olive%20oil.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EToast%20bread%20in%20the%20oven%20at%20350F%20degrees%20for%20about%2010%20minutes,%20just%20until%20it%20begins%20to%20color;%20set%20aside%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EToss%20shredded%20Dubliner%20with%20Flour%20(either%20AP%20or%20Corn)%20and%20Mustard%20Powder%20in%20a%20medium%20bowl%20or%20a%20zipper%20bag,%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20small%20sauce%20pan,%20heat%20oil%20and%20saute%20garlic%20until%20it%20becomes%20fragrant.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove%20the%20garlic%20slices%20and%20add%20Guinness%20and%20Lemon%20Juice%20to%20the%20saucepan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBring%20to%20a%20simmer%20and%20slowly%20add%20the%20Cheese,%20a%20little%20at%20a%20time,%20stirring%20until%20completely%20melted%20before%20adding%20more.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20all%20the%20cheese%20has%20been%20incorporated%20and%20everything%20is%20silky%20smooth,%20move%20to%20a%20fondue%20pot%20or%20a%20small%20crock%20pot%20set%20on%20low.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDip%20toasted%20chunks%20of%20Irish%20Soda%20Bread%20until%20your%20hearts%20content.%20(No%20fondue%20forks?%20Skewers%20work%20well)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDon't%20forget%20to%20chase%20it%20all%20down%20with%20another%20Guinness.%20%20:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWant%20something%20Green?%20%20Forget%20the%20artificially%20dyed%20Pilsner....%20%20Dip%20chunks%20of%20Granny%20Smith%20apple.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20my%20favorite%20dipper%20of%20all,%20is%20crispy%20bacon....%20%20Muah%20ha%20ha%20ha!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHappy%20St.%20Patrick's%20Day!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20other%20Guinness%20Stout%20recipes%20see....%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
