%20and%20yesterday%20was%20finally%20sunny%20and%20I%20soaked%20it%20up%20like%20a%20solar%20panel!%20Today%20was%20sunny%20too%20and%20that%20is%20a%20real%20mood%20booster%20for%20me.%20It's%20compounded%20with%20awesome%20salads%20I%20ate%20last%20night.%20I%20must%20have%20had%20some%20carry%20over%20from%20that%20meal%20because%20I%20was%20not%20hungry%20at%20all%20for%20breakfast.%20I%20actually%20started%20sauteing%20vegetables%20for%20an%20omelet%20and%20I%20thought%20%22wait%20a%20minute,%20I%20know%20it's%20'breakfast%20time'%20but%20I'm%20really%20not%20that%20hungry.%22%20So%20I%20didn't%20eat%20breakfast%20until%20nearly%20%22lunch%20time.%22%20I%20think%20convention%20drives%20us%20to%20eat%20around%20certain%20established%20times,%20but%20I%20have%20noticed%20with%20Paleo,%20I%20really%20don't%20want%20to%20eat%20around%20those%20times.%20I%20like%20a%20late%20breakfast%20which%20makes%20the%20rest%20of%20my%20meals%20later,%20but%20I%20don't%20snack%20as%20much%20as%20I%20used%20to%20when%20I%20at%20a%20low-fat,%20high-carb,%20grain-based%20diet.%20I%20remember%20one%20time%20at%20work%20I%20was%20going%20to%20re-heat%20a%20pork%20chop%20around%2010:30%20am%20and%20someone%20said%20%22isn't%20it%20a%20bit%20early%20for%20lunch?%22...except%20it%20was%20my%20breakfast!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20today%20I%20had%20a%20couple%20cups%20of%20black%20coffee%20while%20I%20entered%20some%20excel%20data%20and%20waited%20for%20my%20appetite%20to%20come.%20Mid-morning%20I%20had%20a%20sausage,%20spinach,%20green%20onion,%20and%20mushroom%20scramble%20with%205%20little%20strawberries%20sliced%20on%20the%20side.%20I%20made%20the%20scramble%20by%20cooking%203/4%20cup%20chopped%20mushrooms%20with%20a%20sliced%20scallion%20in%20a%20little%20extra%20virgin%20olive%20oil%20on%20heat%20a%20little%20less%20than%20medium.%20I%20took%20the%20veggies%20from%20the%20pan,%20browned%20about%202%20oz%20of%20turkey%20sausage,%20then%20returned%20the%20cooked%20vegetables%20and%20about%203/4%20cup%20of%20chopped%20spinach%20to%20the%20pan%20and%20cooked%20them%20until%20the%20spinach%20wilted.%20I%20added%202%20free-range%20eggs%20and%20scrambled%20everything%20together%20with%20some%20black%20pepper%20too.%20Very%20yummy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBefore%20and%20after%20breakfast%20I%20worked%20on%20some%20Excel%20data%20and%20listened%20to%20some%20Robb%20Wolf%20podcasts,%20which%20are%20always%20interesting%20to%20me.%20After%20that%20I%20realized%20I%20needed%20to%20go%20out%20to%20my%20field%20site%20and%20check%20on%20my%20grapevines,%20so%20I%20ate%20a%20handful%20of%20the%20dry%20roasted%20cashews%20I%20made%20yesterday%20to%20hold%20my%20hunger%20over%20and%20went%20to%20the%20field.%20It%20was%20sweltering%20hot,%20but%20luckily%20I%20was%20only%20out%20there%20an%20hour.%20Usually%20on%20days%20where%20I%20work%20outdoors,%20I%20have%20some%20100%25%20pure%20coconut%20water%20with%20no%20added%20sugar%20or%20preservatives.%20Knowing%20that%20I%20would%20also%20be%20working%20out%20later,%20I%20opened%20a%20can,%20however,%20and%20surprisingly,%20I%20found%20it%20to%20be%20too%20sweet%20for%20my%20taste!%20After%204%20sips%20I%20decanted%20it%20into%20a%20glass%20jar%20for%20tomorrow,%20when%20I%20know%20I%20will%20be%20working%20hard%20and%20will%20need%20the%20electrolytes%20and%20have%20earned%20them.%20I%20had%20checked%20out%20on%20the%20Whole%2030%20site%20about%20coconut%20water,%20and%20to%20paraphrase%20the%20information%20I%20found,%20they%20don't%20see%20anything%20wrong%20with%20re-hydrating%20with%20coconut%20water%20for%20doing%20something%20strenuous%20over%20a%20long%20period%20of%20time,%20like%20running%20a%20race,%20but%20for%20doing%20one%20Crossfit%20workout%20of%20the%20day,%20they%20don't%20see%20why%20you%20would%20need%20anything%20more%20than%20water.%20That's%20pretty%20much%20my%20regimen%20anyway...it%20I%20work%20outdoors%20in%20nearly%20100%20degree%20heat%20for%20about%205%20hours,%20I%20think%20I%20need%20the%20coconut%20water.%20If%20it's%20just%20a%20workout%20and%20I%20have%20been%20working%20on%20the%20computer%20all%20day,%20then%20I%20don't%20think%20I%20earned%20the%20coconut%20water%20and%20will%20stick%20with%20regular%20water.%20I%20can%20tell%20a%20difference%20in%20my%20work%20ability%20in%20the%20vineyard%20if%20I%20don't%20have%20my%20coconut%20water%20midday,%20and%20honestly,%20I%20don't%20feel%20like%20eating%20a%20lot%20under%20that%20heat%20so%20coconut%20water%20is%20the%20perfect%20fix%20for%20me!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20ate%20another%20surf%20and%20turf%20lunch%20with%20the%20last%20leftover%20shrimp%20skewer%20and%202%20mini%20burgers,%20about%201/4%20lb%20pre-cooking%20weight.%20I%20also%20had%20some%20veggies%20on%20the%20side%20to%20go%20with%20the%20burgers---mixed%20baby%20lettuce,%20half%20an%20avocado,%20some%20mustard%20(no%20sugar,%20no%20white%20wine)%20smeared%20on%20top,%20and%20half%20a%20cold-pack%20dill%20pickle.%20I%20had%20some%20sparkling%20mineral%20water%20to%20go%20with%20the%20meal,%20which%20was%20really%20refreshing.%20I%20remember%20when%20I%20first%20started%20drinking%20sparkling%20mineral%20water%20I%20thought%20it%20was%20bland,%20but%20now%20I%20can%20taste%20the%20actual%20sweetness%20of%20the%20purified%20water...I%20can%20even%20taste%20the%20sweetness%20in%20regular%20purified%20water%20now,%20which%20is%20really%20weird%20to%20me.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EJust%20scallions,%20kosher%20salt,%20and%20pepper,%20cooked%20in%20a%20dry%20pan.%20Simple%20but%20so%20good!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20dinner%20I%20was%20super%20hungry%20because%20of%20my%20workout%20and%20because%20my%20lunch%20was%20a%20little%20small,%20and%20I%20made%20a%20Whole%2030-compliant%20Spicy%20Thai%20Basil%20Beef%20with%20cauliflower%20rice%20on%20the%20side%20that%20was%20pretty%20amazing,%20if%20I%20do%20say%20so%20myself!%20I%20served%20it%20with%20some%20cauliflower%20rice%20and%20it%20was%20a%20super%20filling%20and%20satisfying%20meal.%20One%20comment%20I%20want%20to%20make%20is%20that,%20I%20know%20we're%20not%20supposed%20to%20eat%20beans%20on%20Whole%2030,%20but%20on%20their%20website%20they%20say%20it's%20ok%20to%20eat%20things%20like%20green%20beans%20and%20snow%20peas%20because%20they're%20more%20pod%20than%20they%20are%20bean.%20That's%20a%20good%20thing%20because%20I%20love%20green%20beans,%20and%20these%20were%20fresh%20and%20tender!%20So%20good.%20I%20didn't%20even%20miss%20the%20palm%20sugar%20that%20traditionally%20goes%20in%20basil%20beef!%20More%20importantly%20I%20took%20the%20plunge%20and%20tried%20coconut%20aminos%20for%20the%20first%20time%20in%20place%20of%20soy%20sauce,%20and%20I%20was%20pleasantly%20surprised%20that%20it%20reminded%20me%20of%20cream%20sherry!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20had%20a%20small%20nectarine%20for%20dessert%20and%20later%20some%20mint%20tea%20to%20soothe%20me%20to%20sleep.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
