.%20I%20am%20truly%20grateful%20for%20her.%20She%20provides%20you%20with%20a%20recipe%20that%20you%20can%20use%20throughout%20the%20holiday%20season%20-%20that's%20why%20you%20always%20need%20to%20keep%20cranberries%20on%20hand%20(because%20you%20can%20only%20find%20them%20this%20time%20of%20year%20in%20the%20produce%20section).%20(This%20is%20a%20picture%20of%20the%20dessert%20and%20of%20Leah%20and%20her%20precious%20son.%20Quick%20story.%20I%20visited%20with%20Leah%20and%20her%20family%20the%20day%20B%20was%20due,%20but%20he%20wasn't%20going%20anywhere.%20He%20came%20the%20next%20day.%20I%20chose%20this%20picture%20because%20it%20shows%20Leah's%20affinity%20and%20closeness%20with%20her%20son,%20and%20daughter%20as%20well.%20She%20loves%20being%20a%20Mom%20and%20wife!)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Cranberry-Apple%20Salad%20is%20a%20dish%20unique%20to%20my%20family.%20It%20contains%20chopped%20cranberries%20and%20apples%20mixed%20with%20mini%20marshmallows%20and%20some%20whipped%20topping.%20The%20end%20result%20is%20a%20fluffy,%20beautifully%20pink%20concoction%20unlike%20anything%20you%20have%20had%20before.%20When%20I%20was%20growing%20up,%20I%20was%20a%20very%20picky%20eater,%20did%20not%20actually%20eat%20the%20salad%20(my%20youngest%20brother%20ate%20enough%20for%20all%20of%20us!),%20and%20really%20never%20thought%20I%20would%20make%20it%20when%20I%20was%20%E2%80%9Con%20my%20own%E2%80%9D.%20The%20first%20year%20that%20Nathan%20and%20I%20were%20in%20seminary,%20we%20could%20not%20travel%20home%20for%20Thanksgiving%20or%20Christmas.%20I%20was%20devastated,%20and%20greatly%20missed%20my%20family.%20Two%20other%20couples%20who%20were%20good%20friends%20of%20ours%20were%20not%20traveling,%20so%20we%20decided%20to%20have%20Thanksgiving%20dinner%20together.%20That%20meal%20with%20the%20Sperdutos%20and%20the%20Russells%20is%20one%20of%20my%20fondest%20memories%E2%80%94we%20had%20such%20a%20great%20time!%20I%20knew%20when%20we%20discussed%20sides%20that%20I%20had%20to%20make%20my%20mom%E2%80%99s%20Cranberry-Apple%20Salad,%20even%20if%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20eat%20it.%20Here%E2%80%99s%20the%20secret%20though:%20as%20an%20adult,%20I%20made%20it%20myself,%20tried%20it,%20and%20really%20liked%20it!%20And%20since%20then,%20though%20we%20still%20do%20not%20travel%20home%20for%20Thanksgiving,%20I%20make%20the%20Phillips%20Family%20Cranberry-Apple%20Salad%20for%20almost%20every%20Thanksgiving!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EChop%20cranberries%20and%20apple%20using%20a%20mini%20chopper%20or%20food%20processor.%20Stir%20together%20cranberries,%20apples,%20sugar%20and%20mini%20marshmallows.%20Refrigerate%20overnight.%20The%20next%20day,%20prepare%20Dream%20Whip%20according%20to%20package%20directions.%20Fold%20Dream%20Whip%20into%20cranberry%20mixture.%20Serve%20immediately.%20This%20salad%20is%20a%20pretty%20pink%20color%20that%20can%20only%20be%20appreciated%20in%20person!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
