%20Sophisticated%20no,%20tasty%20to%20a%20child,%20yes!%20Not%20exactly%20haute%20cuisine%20though%20.%20.%20.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI'm%20happy%20to%20say%20that%20my%20tastes%20have%20grown%20somewhat%20since%20then%20and%20whilst%20I%20still%20enjoy%20cheese%20with%20celery,%20I%20am%20more%20likely%20to%20enjoy%20it%20with%20a%20good%20cheddar%20or%20a%20blue%20cheese,%20perhaps%20even%20a%20boursin%20or%20goats%20cheese%20nowadays!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECelery%20is%20quite%20often%20paired%20with%20blue%20cheese%20actually%20.%20.%20.%20Stilton,%20Cashel%20Blue,%20Shropshire%20Blue,%20Danish%20Blue%20.%20.%20.%20they're%20all%20very,%20very%20good%20with%20it.%20(I%20also%20happen%20to%20like%20it%20with%20raisins%20and%20peanut%20butter,%20a%20childhood%20taste%20for%20ants%20on%20a%20log%20that%20I%20have%20never%20quite%20outgrown!)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAny%20hoo%20.%20.%20.%20the%20cold%20wind%20and%20rain%20today%20begged%20for%20a%20hot%20soup%20to%20take%20the%20chill%20off.%20You%20can't%20get%20any%20finer%20than%20a%20Celery%20and%20Stilton%20Soup%20.%20.%20.%20fresh,%20rich%20and%20oh-so-good!%20We%20enjoyed%20a%20nice%20loaf%20of%20Sunflower%20Seed%20and%20Honey%20bread%20with%20ours.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*Celery%20and%20Stilton%20Soup*%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServes%206%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20delicious%20soup%20which%20takes%20advantage%20of%20the%20perfect%20pairing%20of%20celery%20and%20stilton,%20which%20are%20often%20eaten%20together.%20It%20has%20a%20fresh%20clean%20taste%20with%20a%20rich%20texture.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMelt%20the%20butter%20in%20a%20large%20saucepan.%20Add%20the%20chopped%20onion.%20Cook%20over%20medium%20heat%20for%20about%205%20minutes,%20stirring%20occasionally,%20without%20colouring,%20until%20the%20onions%20are%20softened.%20Stir%20in%20the%20potato%20and%20celery%20and%20cook%20for%20a%20further%205%20minutes.%20Add%20the%20stock%20and%20bring%20to%20the%20boil.%20Cover%20and%20reduce%20the%20heat%20to%20a%20simmer.%20Cook%20gently%20for%20about%2030%20utes,%20until%20the%20vegetables%20are%20very%20tender.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove%20and%20blitz%20about%203/4%20of%20the%20soup%20until%20smooth,%20then%20return%20it%20to%20the%20pan%20with%20the%20remainder%20of%20the%20soup.%20Bring%20back%20to%20the%20boil%20and%20then%20season%20to%20taste%20with%20some%20salt%20and%20pepper.%20Remove%20from%20the%20heat%20and%20stir%20in%20the%20cream.%20Reheat%20gently.%20Stir%20in%20the%20cheese,%20reserving%20a%20bit%20for%20the%20garnish.%20Serve%20hot,%20ladled%20into%20heated%20bowls%20with%20a%20crumble%20of%20cheese%20on%20top.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThere's%20a%20delicious%20Cardamom%20Scented%20Plum%20Cake%20baking%20over%20in%20The%20Cottage%20today.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
