.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOne%20of%20the%20delectable%20treats%20they%20make%20and%20sell%20are%20these%20chocolate%20covered%20cornflakes.%20These%20little%20crunchy%20flakes%20are%20amongst%20one%20of%20the%20favorite%20picks%20from%20the%20folks%20in%20the%20office.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20don%E2%80%99t%20recall%20how%20the%20conversation%20started,%20but%20my%20coworker%20or%20I%20said%20something%20about%20it.%20I%20told%20her%20I%20could%20make%20that%E2%80%A6whenever%20I%20get%20around%20to%20it%E2%80%A6!%20I%20then%20searched%20for%20the%20recipe,%20although%20I%20could%20have%20easily%20winged%20it.%20Surprisingly,%20Jacques%20actually%20had%20how%20to%20videos%20and%20recipes%20online%20in%20various%20locations.%20The%20video%20made%20it%20seem%20so%20simple,%20so%20I%20told%20everybody%20I%20was%20making%20it%20that%20weekend.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBefore%20I%20looked%20at%20the%20recipe,%20I%20had%20the%20idea%20to%20use%20the%20dark%20chocolate%20I%20had%20on%20hand,%20our%20favorite%20baking%20and%20eating%20dark%20chocolate%20from%20Trader%20Joes:%20the%20pound%20plus.%20Although%20the%20recipe%20used%20bittersweet,%20I%20went%20with%20my%20gut%20and%20used%20the%20dark%20chocolate.%20When%20I%20poured%20out%20the%20corn%20flakes,%20they%20seemed%20really%20large.%20I%20almost%20went%20ahead%20with%20crushing%20the%20flakes%20slightly,%20but%20stopped%20myself.%20I%E2%80%99m%20glad%20I%20went%20with%20my%20gut%20in%20both%20instances,%20because%20people%20thought%20I%20could%20give%20Jacques%20a%20run%20for%20his%20money!%20The%20dark%20chocolate%20went%20well%20with%20the%20larger%20crunchy%20flakes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EChocolate%20Covered%20Cornflakes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Einspired%20by:%20Jacques%20Torres%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eingredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Edirections:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EChop%20up%20chocolate%20into%20small%20even%20pieces.%20Place%20in%20a%20large%20dry%20glass%20or%20metal%20bowl.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20medium%20pot,%20bring%20about%20an%20inch%20of%20water%20to%20a%20boil.%20Reduce%20heat%20to%20low%20to%20simmer.%20Place%20bowl%20over%20the%20simmering%20water.%20Make%20sure%20the%20bottom%20of%20the%20bowl%20does%20not%20touch%20the%20water.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EContinue%20to%20stir%20the%20chocolate%20until%20melted.%20Remove%20from%20heat.%20Set%20aside%20to%20allow%20to%20cool%20slightly.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELine%202%20cookies%20sheets%20with%20parchment%20paper,%20or%20silicone%20mats.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20corn%20flakes%20into%20the%20bowl%20of%20melted%20chocolate.%20Using%20a%20spatula,%20fold%20in%20the%20cornflakes%20and%20mix%20well%20to%20evenly%20coat.%20It%E2%80%99s%20ok%20if%20the%20flakes%20break%20slightly.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUsing%20a%20tablespoon,%20scoop%20about%20half%20a%20spoon%20(or%20more%20if%20you%20want%20them%20bigger).%20Using%20another%20tablespoon,%20transfer%20the%20mound%20from%20the%20spoon%20to%20the%20parchment.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETransfer%20baking%20sheet%20to%20refrigerator%20and%20let%20set%20for%2010-15%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStore%20at%20room%20temperature%20ok,%20but%20if%20your%20house%20is%20on%20the%20warm%20side,%20I%20suggest%20storing%20in%20a%20covered%20container%20in%20the%20fridge.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMakes%20a%20few%20dozen,%20depending%20on%20how%20big%20you%20make%20them.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
